"Cody (and Matt) showed up when they said they would (within 15 minutes). They were both very professional and prompt. Cody said it would cost between $350 and $400 and after completing the service in roughly just a half an hour, I was charged the low end of the estimate, $350. I would definitely recommend ASAP, for sure, and will hire them for my plumbing needs in the future!"

"Very impressed with this company. <br /> Chris, the guy who came out to do the survey and provide me a quote was friendly & suggested different options for me. <br /> They were able to install a week later and even gave me an upgrade on the A/C unit as the part that was ordered was not in stock. <br /> Their 2 guy team were professional, polite & seemed well trained and installed everything in 1 day. <br /> d system. The AC at least is working really well and much better & quieter than the old system. <br /> The installation looks neat & tidy and they even mounted the furnace on blocks to keep it off the basement floor. <br /> I would definitely recommend them for this type of work. <br />"

"We were very impressed with the professionalism of everyone on the Pugh team! From the honest assessment of our existing equipment to the straight answers to our questions regarding available options to the actual installation, Pugh was light years ahead of the competition. They were also less expensive than the two other quotes we received. They did the job on time and on budget with minimal interruption. It's been ten months since the installation but the quality of their work is still evident in the flawless performance of the new heating and cooling system and in every perfect angle and weld on the electrical and plumbing connections in the basement. Even the promised savings on the utility bills came true! We're seeing lower bills each month with more comfortable inside air and the digital thermostat is amazingly accurate. The 12 months same as cash financing offered by Carrier helped us pick the furnace and a/c we wanted. We highly recommend Mark and the team at Pugh Heating. We've heard their radio ads for years but this was the first time we ever had them do any work for us. Based on our experience, we won't hesitate to call on them for any services in the future!"

"Great job well executed. These are very high quality professionals capable of diagnosing root causes of your problem, digging out the construction code and educating you on the right thing to do. You can hire cheaper handyman/chimney guys and get a recurring problem or you can hire these licensed professionals and take care of things the right way. Wish I had never used anyone else!"

"Excellent service. Installers very neat, protected hardwood floors, and since it was a two day job they cleaned up each night. New unit is very quiet, installation metal done very well. No complaints at all."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Petersburg, MI

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
