"Our new driveway looks fantastic. Our old driveway (constructed in 1992) was cracking and heaving due to some tree root issues . We decided to replace the entire driveway from garage to sidewalk. We worked with David, laid out our requirements, & got on the schedule for the end of April. On the Monday prior, we got a call from David to see if they could do our concrete work a week early (they had another job nearby in the neighborhood), so we pressed ahead & said yes (...we got lucky). Dave and his crew arrived around 8:45 AM and started Demo on the old concrete. By noon they had all the old concrete slabs pulled up. After lunch he returned with a crew of 8 to 10 guys and started installing the forms, laying down a stone base, and adding the rebar. They also installed two 3-inch conduits for running sprinkler lines and landscape light wiring. The cement truck arrived around 330PM. They poured, screed, and troweled it in, and by 6PM we had a new driveway...all in one day. They also erected cone and tape barriers to keep the deer (and humans) off the newly poured concrete. The cure time to drive on it is about 4 to 5 days; to park on it: 10 days. We were really please at their attention to detail. They took the time to get the layout level and even with the garage. They returned the next day to remove the forms and power wash the surrounding areas to remove any cement or dirt splash."

"I recently hired SC Concrete to complete a concrete overlay project, and I’m very satisfied with the results. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, their team was professional, punctual, and transparent about the process. They took the time to explain my options and helped me choose a finish that not only matched the existing style of my property but also enhanced it. The overlay was applied smoothly and evenly, transforming the old, worn-out surface into a clean, modern-looking space. The attention to detail—especially around edges, joints, and transitions—was impressive. SC Concrete used high-quality materials, and it shows in both the texture and durability of the final product. They kept the work area clean, minimized disruption, and completed the project within the agreed timeline and budget. I’ve already received several compliments from neighbors and visitors. If you’re considering a concrete overlay to improve your patio, driveway, or walkways, I highly re"

FAQs for concrete finishing, overlays & coloring application projects in Peyton, CO

With proper care, a stained concrete floor easily lasts 20 years or more. Reapply sealer every two to four years to protect against moisture, scratches, and daily wear. Routine sweeping, occasional damp mopping, and prompt repairs keep the surface looking sharp and protect the slab underneath, preserving both function and resale value.

Stained concrete can crack if the slab is exposed to extreme moisture changes, heavy impacts, or settling. Small hairline cracks are mainly cosmetic, but deeper fractures can affect the finish. Inspect the floor regularly, address moisture issues quickly, and hire a pro for timely repairs. Staying on top of maintenance prevents minor flaws from developing into larger, more costly problems.

The longevity of a concrete stain depends on the product you choose. Acid-based options chemically bond with the slab and are essentially permanent. Water-based stains sit on the surface and can be lightened, darkened, or covered with a new color at a later time. Select the stain type that aligns with your long-term design plans and your willingness to reapply the stain in the future.

You can update the color by cleaning the slab, lightly etching it, and applying a new layer of stain. Re-staining bonds to the concrete and resists peeling far better than paint. For a dramatic shift—such as moving from a dark acid stain to a lighter tone—you may need to grind the surface first. A flooring pro can advise on the best approach for your specific floor.

Stained concrete combines longevity with a modern, custom look. The finish resists heavy foot traffic, moisture, and everyday wear, so upkeep is minimal—routine sweeping and an occasional damp mop are usually enough. Because the color is inside the concrete, it won’t peel or flake like paint. Homebuyers also appreciate its sleek aesthetic and low maintenance, which can add a slight boost to your property's resale value.
