"Window trim and other small fixes were completed in 1 day. All messes were cleaned up appropriately. Everything looks good, including a bathroom wall patch that blends seamlessly! The only thing making this a 4/5 is that the contractors who came to actually do the job didn't seem to have the full list of items discussed with the primary poc we had the consult with prior to starting the work. I recommend taking notes on what is discussed, ensuring the invoice has all specific details, and then reviewing with the folks at the beginning of project to make sure all jobs are captured."

"I received quotes from multiple companies over 2 years for windows and new siding. We ended up going with PSP because of their low price point while supposedly receiving the same windows as competitors. We were given an 8-12 week timeline with our quote while other companies were saying 20. This was another selling point. Well, we ended up waiting 6 months with multiple delays. This is with me initiating contact about the status most of the time. PSP did not even want to call me and tell me there was another delay so they had their supplier do it. Once the windows came in, the order was wrong because PSP failed to submit the correct design. So I had to wait another 3 months for the correct windows to come in. As far as the siding, they did a great job as long as it was a straight line. They tried 3 times to cut an arched trim piece and I still have a misshapen arch over my front door. The painters were very efficient and did exactly what I wanted. They were wonderful. Throughout this process, I was dealing directly with the owner because of all the miscommunication and poor organization of the project manager and the office. Since the window install, we have noticed multiple warped screens and even a screen that is completely different from our other ones. We reached out and have since been ignored. So if you want average quality, long wait times, and poor communication for a great price, go with PSP."

"I believe in life, the universe gifts us people when we need them. Mike and his crew at Capitol City Wood Works were one of these universal gifts our family was lucky to receive. We met Mike about 6 months ago, shortly after my FIL had passed away and my MIL could no longer take care of the house. Our goal was to sell the house. The first problem...the back deck (55ft x 25ft) with a not working pool (33ft x 20ft) in the middle of the deck needed major repairs and code upgrades. The second problem, my husband & I live across the country & were overseeing the repairs from 1,300 miles away. Using Angie's list we found 3 different contractors to interview for the job. Each interview we stated we wanted the deck to be safe, use the structure that is there and look good. Mike was the only contractor that did two important things: 1. he sought to understand our unique situation of distance & selling the house 2: he listened to what we wanted for repairing the deck rather than a new build"

"I would give zero stars if I could. They are completely incompetent. We hired them to install a set of french doors to my backyard. They couldn't get the door to close properly, and the French doors were scraping against each other when closing. They claimed the issue was a faulty hinge and that they needed to order a replacement. I emailed them multiple times for updates, and getting a response was like pulling teeth. They consistently postponed the repair date. When they finally returned to fix it, THREE MONTHS LATER, they discovered the problem wasn't the hinge at all, but rather a protruding screw. They didn't even use the replacement hinge; they simply replaced the screw. As a result, I had a non-functioning door for three months. Furthermore, we provided them with the specifications of the hardware we were going to order. They initially advised that a single dummy handle would suffice for the non-locking door, but it actually required a passage handle. However, when they realized the single dummy handle wouldn't work, they told us to order a double dummy handle, before they realized it needed a passage. Now, I have two extra sets of wasted hardware. I can't return them because their prolonged delay in installing the door caused the return period to expire. I also don't know what kind of discount door they got, but the handle is extremely low, only 30 inches above the ground. When I looked it up, door handles are usually 36 inches above the floor. They are terrible"
