My name is DeKwuan Massey, and I’m an entrepreneur and operations-minded professional based in the Atlanta area. I’m someone who takes pride in growth — personally, professionally, and spiritually. "Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

"Wes is the best appliance repair tech in Columbus GA. He is very knowledgeable about all appliances and will do his best to save you money by repairing it if he can. He is very honest and if you need a new one he will let you know. He repairs things CORRECTLY and does not put a Band-Aid on it. Oh and if something is wrong with a repair he comes right out to fix the issue. I own a very highly rated property management company here in Columbus GA and they are the only company we use. My tenants are always happy."

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"Repair Clinic sent me a water intake valve that had some scuff marks and an unnecessary fixture (which I thought nothing of, assuming it had been removed from a new dishwasher). When the part did not fix my dishwasher's issue, I ordered a circulation pump, which also failed to fix the issue, so I decided to return both parts. Repair Clinic blamed me for the scuff marks and extra fixture, which is unacceptable. They referenced their return policy which states that parts which have been installed cannot be returned, and denied me any form of refund. For all I know, the water intake valve was defective, and I have no recourse. Don't put any stock in the "No-Hassle 365-Day Returns" they proudly tout on their homepage. Instead, expect finger-pointing and uncaring dismissal. You are better off with one of their many competitors."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Phenix City, AL

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
