"The actually installation went very smoothly. Our test came back with very low radon levels after the system was installed. I give a B+ rating based on the length of time it took to book the appointment to have the system installed. The owner who provided the quote said they were booking 7-10 days out and it ended up they were booked over a month out. I may have gone with another company had I known it would take so long. Otherwise excellent job. Nice job cleaning up after as well."

"There is a reason for their straight A rating.  Very responsive; outstanding work; complete explanation before, during, & after the job.  Price competive!  RRR stopped in to give me my third contractor's quote.  It was obvious that Jim new what he was doing, and was not throwing in a bunch of unnecessary items to drive the price up.  I hired him on the spot,  I needed it done quickly as we were in process of closing on sale of the home.  They did it three days later.  A few days later my wife was checking for last items to remove from the house and heard hissing.  Two very very tiny holes between the foundation and concrete floor, several feet away from the radon port, was sucking air.  Jim stopped by a couple days later and sealed them. <br /> I hired them for a second install in our new home. Both jobs are top notch.  1st install was $1200 and more complex involving drilling through 18 inches of stone and mortar.  2nd install was $800. <br />"

"Scott from Landmark Inspections performed a home inspection of the home my husband and I are purchasing. We are first time home buyers and this is our first home inspection. We were very impressed with Scott from beginning to end. Before the inspection, he was responsive and communcative, answering every one of our phone calls and emails. The inspection was thorough and Scott and his trainee inspector (also Scott) took the time to answer our questions and explain everything they were doing/finding. The inspection did not feel rushed or like Scott was trying to get through it to move on to the next. The report he sent us (48 hours after the inspection, great turn around time) was very throrough, contained useful information about our future home, and clearly laid out a heirarchy for recommended repairs. We also got a termite inspection, sewer scope inspection (which was also performed incredibly professionally by Melvin from Knox & Knox Solutions), and raydon test. In total, we paid a lot of money for these services, but it was money very well spent. We would not hesitate to recommend Scott, Landmark, and the other service professionals with whom he contracts."

"John was great. He was thorough and took a lot of time walking us through the home and explaining everything that was a concern and strength. He was personal and professional at the same time. We had him test for mold and radon as well as the home was older and he also inspected a detached garage. The inspection reports and invoices were all available online on a secure site for download, which is very convenient."

"Home Inspection and Radon Test.  Nick is A#1+++. From the call to set up a test dated, Nick returned  my call promptly and explained what would be done and all costs. No hiden cost or problems. Arrived right on the appointment inspection time and went right to work. Out side home inspection, roof top inspection of second and first floors roofs. Moved inside and pointed out problem areas as he went along.  Basement and first floor radon test also. Inspection on a Friday, emailed detailed report on Saturday morning with many pictures and suggestions of what to do to correct problems. I would most definitely use and recommened Nick again and to anyone else."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Phoenixville, PA

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
