"Single Line Electric replaced the sub-panel (fuse box) for our house. My wife works from home, so we needed to schedule it for a day she was working in her Oakland office. Scheduling was not a problem. We got a competitive price, and the work crew was friendly and courteous. After the sub-panel was installed, the crew went through the house to make sure all electric outlets were functioning and properly labeled. They cleaned up thoroughly. My wife had purchased a ceiling fan that had not been installed. I asked the work crew if they could add that to the work order. No problem. Single Line will be my first call for future work."

"I ordered a rewire for most of my house, fix GFCI receptacles in my garage, and update EV charging receptacle. Communication - 4/5 The project manager, Onri, was responsive for the most part and answered any questions I had. Timeliness - 5/5 The crew arrived earlier than I’d expect them. Quality - 5/5 The crew laid down blankets to avoid damaging the floors. They made minimal cuts to gain access to route new wiring. The crew was very professional and seemed like experts. Correctness - 3/5 The crew was not aware I ordered an installation for EV charging, fixing drywall, and fixing the garage GFCI connectors. They had to do two follow up visits to fix the GFCI receptacles. Overall, I had to double check their work. They rewired two bedrooms to the same breaker when they should have been split. The important thing is that they corrected everything that was wrong and was very professional about it. I’d hire them again."

"It is my pleasure to recommend Anthony. He is knowledgeable, conscientious, highly skilled and professional. Before I could get back to him, he followed up with me by phone and was able to schedule and complete the work within the same day of contacting me. He came to the job with all necessary tools & replacement parts and completed the work within an hour. I will certainly call Anthony for any future electrical projects and plan to recommend him to my friends."

Customers say: Quick response

"Beware, Trevor is extremely incompetent and a complete rip off. All we needed was a simple 240 panel swap First he gave us a price to start in 3 days and a price to start in 5 days for 8k more. This was on a formal written quotation. We chose 3 days because it was an emergency. He ended up ordering the wrong panel and by the time the replacement was delivered, we were at 7 days. He still charged us the additional 8k. Next, the 2nd panel had a connections approximately 12" further than the original panel. Without quoting or even indicating that we would have to pay for this he replaced a few feet of 100 amp wire and added $4200 to the invoice! The best one is the $1500 he added to "determine which phase the stinger leg was was supposed to be on." He checked alright by process of elimination. He guessed wrong and caught my office on fire! What kind of person has the nerve to charge for that after setting your building on fire? We ended up withholding payment on the last 2 charges to get clarity from him about their legitimacy. He showed up at our business very hostile and started screaming about giving him his money and what he would do if I didn't. He had already been paid the 19k on the original estimate. He would not listen to anything or leave and ultimately I had to threaten to call the cops to get him out of there. This guy is a scam artist and a safety hazard. Save your wallet and your building and hire someone else."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Piedmont, CA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
