"Installation was very professional and seamless. My only complaint is that we were advised to have "our" painters stain the doors, i.e. not included in the estimated cost for the doors. I did not realize that it would cost another $900. to complete this process. I would have appreciated a ball park figure for this additional bill."

"It went very well. Don showed up as planned. Inspected the damage inside and out. He explained what all was involved with repairing the structure, sealing it back up, and putting the siding back on. Answered all of my questions, and even calmed me down a little. After all, I was the one with a tree crushing part of my roof. He even helped me tarp cover the damage in case it rained before it could be fixed. The crew showed up as planned and fixed it. No problems, no surprises, no problems. Cleaned up, and you couldn't even tell they had been there."

"The estimate process was both educational and shocking. Mr. Gibbons showed me several places in the attic where the builder had done an extremely poor job on the insulation - things from areas with absolutely no insulation to places where the required insulation per code was not met. Mr. Gibbons gave an extremely detailed estimate. While the cost was higher than the other 2 companies (highly-recommended on Angie's List) his outline of his work was much more thorough. I had done a lot of research on home insulation on the Oak Ridge Building Envelope Research site so I knew the information Mr. Gibbons told me was accurate and honest. Mr. Gibbons obviously cares about the work he does, treating my home like it was his own. He explained the WHY of every part of the estimate - why the crew would do what they did and how it would improve the insulating properties in the attic. Because we had blown-in pink fiberglass insulation, the crew first hand-patted the insulation down to compress it. They blew cellulose insulation over it to give a value of R50. On the knee walls in the attic, the crew installed fan-fold board then sprayed 1/2 to 3/4-inch of urethane foam. They installed polystyrene attic vents where they were missing, blocking the ends with fiberglass bat pieces to prevent loose insulation from falling onto the soffit vents. Mr. Gibbons discovered the fireplace knee walls were not insulated so they installed mineral wool around the flue pipe and fiberglass batting on knee walls. They wrapped the air-return duct work with fiberglass batting then sprayed cellulose over that. It is too complicated to explain but they also properly insulated a bedroom closet that is built out into the attic over the garage. Previously that closet was practically an open door to the bedroom. The crew laid plastic down on all surfaces where they had to walk, protecting my rugs and floors. When the job was complete, they cleaned up to the point where you would not know they had been there. Mr. Gibbons' crew, including his son Jake, were very polite and professional. Mr. Gibbons did part of the work himself, but left mid-day. He returned and did a thorough inspection of all the work. I cannot say enough about the quality of work and professionalism of Gibbons Insulation. He even took pictures with my camera for me so I could email them to my family to show what an awesome job he did. ( I know, I'm odd!)"

"Met with estimator Doug Wilson.  He explained what they could do for basement bowing walls and seepage of water along the floor line during wet weather.  He was able to schedule his crew in about  weeks after I gave him the go ahead.  The wall anchors consisted of boring large holes in the lawn (24" diameter x 72" deep) at each location of the wall anchors.  They drilled a hole in the basement wall about 30" below grade and drove a threaded rod out to the holes that were drilled in the yard.  A large steel plate was installed on each end of the rods and tightened to stabalize and straighten the walls.  After they finished the job, there were piles of dirt left over each hole that was dug in the lawn.  I knew there would be a mess, but not quite as much as there is.  It will be quite some time before the ground settles enough to seed or mow this area.  Their crew made an attempt to reseed, but a lot of grading will need to be done this fall or next spring. <br /> For the drainage system, they used jack hammers to break out the basement floor for a foot or so away from the walls.  They dug out the gravel fill and installed a 4" slotted drain tile next to the footing and connected it to an existing drain tile.  They then placed a plastic piece against the wall that will allow water seeping through the walls to be directed to the drain tile.  I was dissapointed in the quality of the concrete work done to finish the floor.  The original floor was 4" thick, but only poured back 2" or so,  I asked them to lower part of the drain tile and back fill before they poured the concrete.   They reluctantly did so and got it a little deeper.  The concrete finish was not nearly as smooth as the original floor. <br />"

"They did a great job, very efficient. Mauricio inspected each of the lights before installing and found one to be defective. The internal wires were stripped and not safe. We felt very lucky that he had inspected before installing. We were able to get another light fixture that he later installed and were able to prevent a possible fire from that light fixture. <br /> We originally asked just for the lighting installation. After talking, we discovered that he and his crew did so much more. They do room additions, fences, remodeling, home inspections, etc. We kept adding projects (since it is a new home for us) and he was always willing to tackle anything we requested. His rates were very reasonable. <br /> We would highly recommend Mauricio and his crew for any job! <br /> <br />"
