"I tried to do my own landscaping on my property and got frustrated. I apparently have a black thumb. My mom told me to hire C&K and stop killing myself. They came out and not only made things look great but taught me the proper way to care for my new shrubs and after testing planted the right grass for my soil. I give them kootos for their work ethic as well as willingness to teach me how to keep it as beautiful as they made it. Love my irrigation system. ABOVE AND BEYOND"

"Our foundation warranty company originally put us in contact with Carolina Foundation Solutions for an estimate on some warranty work we needed. Our townhouse is in the middle of 6 other houses and the foundation at the front of our house was sagging and caused a large offset crack to appear in the concrete floor of the downstairs bedroom. We were very impressed with John Adams and the crew and scheduled the work. They had to break up the floor of the bedroom with a jackhammer, remove the concrete, install 5 helical piers, reinstall rebar and re-pour the concrete floor. They completed the work in a about 4 days and we were happy with the fix. We did have a couple of issues. One being that they are not gardeners, so if you have any plants/bushes near where they will be working, please move them and temporarily replant them yourself, as although the guys will remove and replant, our bushes didn't survive the week it took to get them replanted. The other issue was that it took over six months to get the permit signed off on by the engineer (and that was only when I contacted him directly). I blame myself for this as I made the mistake of paying the bill before that step was complete and although Carolina Foundation Solutions repeatedly told me they were working on getting the engineer to sign off, I can't help thinking that if I had the leverage of not paying the bill until all work was complete that I would have had the engineer sign off within weeks of the work being done, instead of more than six months later! With that said I would use them again, I just would make sure everything was complete before I paid!"

"Great! I had them look at my gutters about adding flashing and they showed that the original contractor did not install flashing at all! Behind my gutters Also showed me the improper work done by the people that repaired my roof. I really appreciate their honesty and excellent work Would use again and highly recommend."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Pikeville, NC

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
