"Very polite & courteous. They weren't quite as meticulous only in that our next door neighbor had to come over and complain the picket boards on his side of the fence we falling off due to the amount of hard pounding coming from our side. I think they tried to rush a bit because we were in the process of getting a puppy and they were really trying to help us out so it's pretty tough to complain. Very nice guys!"

"Bruce repaired our back door with amazing precision! It was an awkward metal door that was installed by a prior rehab contractor (over a year ago) from standard to wheelchair width door. The door was never flush or mounted correctly. As time went by, the door became unusable. Bruce tackled the challenge with ease and made the door fit snug, smooth & with a solid feel. For a little extra, he also installed a new storm door we purchased to the same back door. Even though he ran out of time on the first day, he returned the next day and cheerfully finished up and made sure that I was totally comfortable with the feel and sturdiness of the doors. He also suggested an additional safety lock which he picked up and installed that as well for both front & back doors. Once we get our foundation in order, if we have any other issues with any of our doors, we will be calling Bruce for estimates for those adjustments. Pilot Point is fairly far from most decent, reliable contractors. I can't tell you how many flaky guys are around who don't know their craft! Bruce made a difference in the quality of our lives; literally. I take care of my disabled hubby; unable to do even the simple things due to energy or time restraints. Our back door was taken from a 32" to 36" by a contractor we used a year ago. It was never installed correctly and was incomplete. It finally stopped working. Bruce gave a quote for the repair & re-installation, as well as for another nominal fee, to put in a new storm door. When he was done, our door finally fit properly and we now have a beautiful storm door bonus! There are no gaps; it is airtight, snug and easy to open & close. He pointed out where the other contractor missed some points, and showed what needed to be done & why. He was very patient. He did not rush, and actually came the next day to complete it to the level he wanted it to be. All of the "T's" were crossed and "I's" dotted, from what we saw when he was finished. Noting my hubby's handicapped status, Bruce also came up with suggestions of improving & smoothing over transition over the threshold. He adjusted the ramp from outside to fit the new door threshold location, and made helpful suggestions for the transition portion inside the house. He also noted additional safety measure we could install at our door lock area, and we asked that he put it in place, and he did so. Thanks, Bruce! It took a long time to find someone who knows what he is doing. We highly recommend Bruce for those jobs that seem overwhelming, but are very important to you, and they just have to be done. Bruce is the exception, as he knows what he is doing, and he does it very well. You may find his quote a bit high, but he does deliver quality craftsmanship, you get your money's worth and you will not be disappointed! Thank you, Bruce, for our wonderful back doors, and we WILL be contacting you for other projects in the future! You are a blessing!"

"Neighborhood Garage Door was quick to respond. They were professional and as far as I can tell did good work. I didn't shop around for pricing, but have had springs replaced in the past and the price seemed about right."

"Steve answered the phone when I called Dallas Glass and Mirror explaining that I needed someone to measure and give me a price quote for a frameless shower door and side panel. He was very friendly and professional throughout the call. He was able to come out the next day and measure for the frameless shower door that I needed. While he and his assistant were measuring, the assistant noticed that my bathroom window was very foggy. He stated, “Have you thought about replacing that window?” I explained that I had thought about it, but that we were spending so much money renovating our bathroom and that we hadn’t budgeted for the window. I had received 4 other price quotes for the shower door before Steve had come out, so I was expecting a certain price. Steve said that he could measure the window and give me a price quote for replacing it. I knew it wouldn’t hurt to go ahead and get a quote so that we could budget for it in the future. Within approximately 10 minutes of leaving, I had received a text from Steve with the quote for the shower door, side panel and the bathroom window. He had explained to me that he was usually more expensive than other companies on the frameless shower doors because he uses superior hardware. He explained how much the hardware that he uses costs, so I was astounded when I received his text with the price quote. He quoted me $1195.00 for the frameless shower side panel and door that is about 8” taller than the average shower door. His price was about $300 less than the least expensive quote I had received from the other companies that I had called. He also told me that since I had used Angieslist, I would receive 10% off of my total. This gave us room in our budget to go ahead and order the bathroom window that desperately needed to be replaced. He quoted us $465 plus 10% off for the 46”x46” safety glass window. He explained that his supplier was behind so the estimated time frame would be 7-10 business days between placing the order and installation. Exactly 10 business days later, Steve came out to install my beautiful new shower door and bathroom window. I was amazed at what a huge difference it made on the overall look of my bathroom. He was at my house for approximately two hours doing the installation. Afterward, he explained in detail exactly what cleaning agents to use as well as how much and how often. He gave detailed instructions on how long to avoid touching the glass, when we could start using the shower, etc. He also explained why the seal on my original bathroom window had failed. The builder had installed it backwards! I was so happy with his work that I asked him to give me a price quote on some other windows that we need the glass replaced in. As soon as we’re ready to replace them, Dallas Glass and Mirror is who we will call!"

"I was very pleased with The experience. Jason had a number of options for me and helped me decide on the best for my door. I decided on a "hard maintenance" which was light sanding, stain and several layers of varnish. Jason was flexible, punctual and very friendly. I enjoyed chatting with him while he worked. I will definitely call on him again for other refinishing needs. Great work!!"

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Pilot Point, TX

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
