"The staff at Garvey's in Bloomsburg was terrific.  Our salesperson, Brady, was very informative and helpful when we were choosing our carpet.  He asked a lot of questions and really took the time to get to know us and learn about our flooring needs.  Al came to measure for carpet just a few days after we first walked into the showroom and within hours after the measurement Brady contacted us with a quote.   <br /> The installers arrived right on time and were very professional, friendly, and courteous.  They worked quickly and efficiently and explained what we can expect from our new carpet.  They even gave us more flooring ideas for the other rooms in our home!  Talk about service! <br /> On top of the outstanding service, our carpet looks amazing and comes with both the Stainmaster guarantee and Garvey's lifetime installation guarantee.  We looked at some big-box store to get carpet, but the warranty couldn't touch the installation warranty from Garvey's. <br /> For any other household projects we will most definitely be visiting Garvey's Flooring America first!!! <br />"

"As I used Garvey's in the past and was completely satisfied I didn't look anywhere else when it came time to replace flooring again. There was some miscommunication in the beginning. I had hardwood, ceramic tile and carpet installed in almost my whole house. I had hardwood installed n my doing room and originally was going to have carpet in my TV room. I asked to hold on the carpet till I saw what the hardwood looked like. I asked for a quote on how much ore it would be and was given a quote which I thought he added to the price of the carpet and that was all had to come up with I addition to the carpet for hardwood. This misunderstanding meant that I had to come up with not only the additional amount(which is what I thought) but the amount for the whole TV room. I had to get the money as I only had enough to cover the quote I was given. I asked if the flooring could be ordered while got the money and was told NO. At this point I had already given them thousands of dollars. This put the work way behind schedule. After paying this much I thought they could at least order it. That said, the subcontractors they used were excellent. They were very professional and the work was done well. We were completely satisfied with the installation. The contractors and subcontractors were very good at what they do and cleaned up every day as well as giving us information that we didn't know. I would recommend Garvey's to my friends and family making sure to tell them to clarify on paper the total costs."

"He is fantastic. He is so good. The floor is finished and I love it. He gave me someone who's doing the steps after he's finished with the flooring and it's beautiful. It was a 10. I got it from Angie's List and he's right close to me. When I first called, I had no problem with him at all. They did what they had to do. Things were going well. It's beautiful. His pricing was good. He was so good."

"Went to corters to originally price carpeting. After not seeing anything we really liked in carpeting ( which had nothing to do with the variety of carpet Flooring America had). They have a very large selection. We decided that Hardwood might be a better choice. It was more money but in the long run it would be the right choice. Gary showed us what he had on hand and the price was a little more than we had budgeted. Gary told us to just wait a day or 2 cause he had another flooring source that was bringing him some samples and that this particular brand was on sale. Within 4 days we had picked what we wanted and planned to have it installed. Somerset Flooring (Sadle). <br /> Gary worked with us on price and personally came a number of times to our house to make sure the measurements were correct and that we were kept informed on the whole process. The installers showed up the day they said they would and installed the floor in three days. The installers were very professional and knew what they were doing. It was a very positive  experience. I would highly recommend them if you need carpet, flooring."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Pine Grove, PA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
