"I am thrilled with the look of my kitchen cabinets! The workmanship is amazing! My kitchen looks larger and brighter. I love the cabinet opening beneath the counter… now I can reach everything in that impossible corner cabinet. Thank you, Shane, for an excellent transformation!"

"They were very professional. They came in matched my color to the cabinets perfectly. If you want a big project that involves your kitchen cabinets refacing I highly recommend The Home Depot. I never went to the store everything was done in my house. Great Job."

"We found Kitchens and Bath by Design, LLC in the Yellow Pages.  They are a local company in the LaGrange, GA area. Upon arriving at Kitchens and Bath, we were immediately greeted by Kim, the administrative assistant. She showed us the cabinets in the Kitchens and Bath by Design Showroom, and the different styles available. Except for the total cost of the cabinets, she was answered all our questions, and was extremely thoughtful and courteous. <br /> <br /> Our contact information was given to Kim and she called a couple of hours later asking of it would be okay for the Kitchens and Bath team could come over to measure the kitchen cabinets the next day. D.K. and Jeremy took the measurements and asked if we had any special preferences, then provided a few of their own. My wife and I were extremely impressed with their professionalism and their friendly demeanor. We were even more impressed when they called back a couple of hours later that day with an estimate. <br /> <br /> The next day, Friday 10/28/11, we decided on the kitchen cabinetry and paid a 50% deposit of $3,475.00. <br /> <br /> Kim called on Monday 11/07/11 and asked if it D.K. and Jeremy could take out the existing cabinets the following day. They arrived at 10:15am and were gone by 11:30am on 11/08/11. This included the 34 year old kitchen cabinets, old cast iron sink, and stove. They were extremely organized and efficient. It would have taken my wife and I days to do what they did in 1 hour. <br /> <br /> The next day, Wednesday 11/09/11, D.K. and Jeremy arrived at 8am. The kitchen cabinetry was completely installed by 1:30pm. The kitchen does not look the same.  It is perfect, thanks to D.K., Jeremy and Kim. The cabinets were installed exactly two weeks from our first visit on 10/26/11 to the completion of installation of the kitchen cabinets on 11/09/11. <br /> <br /> I must mention that the countertop and backsplash were flawlessly installed by Carter-Langley Design, LTD., Newnan, GA. Beth Carter was recommended by Kitchens & Bath by Design, LLC. <br />"

"Richard Marks (not, "Shoulda Known Better" Marx) and his crew (props to the main man Chad), did a great job on our kitchen. It's an old house and there were some idiosyncratic challenges that they handled with aplomb (even when I didn't when I found out the new fridge that we bought wouldn't fit the space...oy, my bad on that though). They stand behind their work. One of the cabinets they installed apparently had a weak backing and it came detached from the wall. Chad was out the next day and said "yep, we'll get you a new one". Took a week or so for the new one to come in and they came right out and replaced it. Great guys, great work, fair prices... <br />"

"<p>I saw Ronnie on the same day that I called him and he quoted the cost of painting our houses. I felt that his quote was very reasonable and asked him to come back and paint for us.</p> <p>He was finishing up painting another house but he returned to paint for us immediately after completing the other job. He is very thorough and efficient in his work. He completed the job(s) in a very timely manner and we are well pleased with  how everything looks.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"Roger was the one who put the cabinets in and he was wonderful...he was punctual it was the cabinets were not.  The cabinets are honey maple with special cutting and finishes requested.  We did get everything we asked for.  Evidently the problem , which we were unaware of for a few weeks, was that with the special finishes and cutting we requested the person who does this was backed up on his work and if I understood correctly it required a certain type of blade.  This put a 1-2 weeks delay on the installation of the cabinets.  Noting could progress until the cabinets were in.  The backsplash, granite, sinks, etc. could not be put in until the cabinets were in, which put a hold on all of the rest of the contract workers.  At the time it was a mess to have only one working sink...in the kitchen and none in the bathrooms.  With that said I have posted pictures under Affordable Handyman, Jason Kilgore, of the finished product.  The quality, finish and look is unbelievably beautiful.  Their work is outstanding and even with the delays I would definitely use them again.  My husband look at them all the time and say "we have the best looking cabinets in Columbus, Georgia.  For fun we go to open houses and even the high end ones $500,000 and up do not have cabinets that can compare to ours. So thank you for what we consider art work.  If I can figure out how to do it again I will post pictures on their website here on Angie's list. <br />"

"I paid for professionalism, labor and timely completion of a job given the tight time window of fair weather conditions that existed. I am satisfied with the job outcome. I paid $2,395 for the paint job/prep and related tasks. I paid $50 for the peep hole. I paid $95 for the repair of the lower base of the front entrance columns. The last three tasks were performed gratis. As he himself stated, Mr. Weatherby's name and reputation is on all the completed work. Mr. Weatherby likes to paint."

"They were very accommodating. They did very good work. They had very good craftsmanship. They did really what we wanted. They were fast and they did make a couple of errors but they fixed it for us so they were no problems. They had made some measurement errors with the cabinet so they had to redo some. We weren't real happy with the stain on a couple of cabinets so they took it back to the shop and re-stained them. They were real accommodating if we weren't happy with something. We had a good experience. They were on the middle of the road with pricing and I know there are others that are more expensive."

"Rarely on time. Left his trailer in my parking area for the duration of the job. Asked for more money before job was completed and the left without reinstalling the trim and outlets. Cheapest estimate I got and I got what I paid for! <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Pine-mountain-valley, GA

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
