"Very professional. Chase is both laid back enough to feel like you've known him for years and professional enough to give realistic explanations of every aspect of installing/replacing a fence - including cost analysis, payment schedule and above all, accurate time frames for each stage of the job. Its a shame I only have one fence, because I would absolutely have him and his crew come back out again."

"John handled our aluminum fence install without delay. He walked the line with us first, made sure the layout matched what we wanted, and started right away. The panels went in clean, no gaps or uneven spots. He stayed on task and worked through until it was done. No talking in circles, no delays. The fence looks tight and secure. Glad we picked this crew."

"I contacted Metropolitan chimney when we discovered water dripping inside our fireplace. Oscar was very professional on the phone and arranged to come out to look that afternoon. He arrived promptly and assessed our chimney. After 25 years, the concrete crown needed to be replaced. He also sealed several areas and replaced mortar joints that were cracked/damaged. After all repairs were completed he applied waterproofing to the entire outside chimney. After the next rain, we did still have a minor drip. I called and spoke with Oscar and he was out to our home within 3 hours. He inspected every brick of the chimney again and repaired a few more possible problem areas. He did not charge any additional fee for this return trip. We have had absolutely no problems since the repair and are VERY happy with Metropolitan Chimney and Oscar. I would really recommend them for anyone that needs chimney or masonry services.

"They put in a lot of crappy boards. They were the only ones that I found that replied that would put in the fence that I wanted. Most of it was very good, but, of course, on the far side of the yard I found lots of boards that were not up to snuff. Eight years ago they got the fence in. I wasn't there (when they did the work). I would use them again in the future only if I stood over them with a shotgun. They could have used better boards and given me a lighter gauge. I wasn't there for the most part and they were all Hispanic so I've got no idea how the workers were, but the contractor that was watching over them had no complaints.

"We are extremely pleased with the work of Earth Friendly Services overall. How the space looks now really exceeds what our expectation was for the end result. Our basement space was pretty much a mess and posed a number of remodeling challenges, including a very uneven floor surface, moving of the gas meter, support poles in weird places, multiple water valves and other items that require access. Yet with how it looks now, you'd never know it was such a mess to begin with. Both of the lead guys for the company, Steve and Bill, were good listeners and were patient with our questions and our issues as things came up when they were doing the work. Both of them had good attention to detail and worked to get to what we wanted, rather than what would have been easiest for them. For example, we asked them to use a type of drop-ceiling tile they'd not worked with before, and they got it done, with the result being a fantastic-looking, modern ceiling, rather than the industrial look most weird spaces end up using. There was no down-time during the project, as someone (usually several people) was/were down in the basement working every day, resulting in their finishing the job exactly in the timeframe that they said they would (originally they said it would take three to three-and-a-half weeks, and they were done in three weeks and three days). There was none of that "Hey, this is going to cost a little more than we said it would" or any of the nightmare stories you hear from other people getting their basements finished. It cost exactly what they said it would up-front. Further, their total cost was $8K lower than the closest bid we received for the same job! It sounds crazy to say this, but these days it feels like an oddity when contractors do exactly what they say they are going to do for exactly what they say it's going to cost, but that is exactly what happened in our experience with Earth Friendly. This is the company you want to go with if you are on a budget yet nonetheless expect a quality product and a professional contractor with a solid work ethic."

"It is a family-run business. They are all very good and nice people. They are based in La Plata, so they are not really next door. They came when they were supposed to. They reviewed the situation, came up with solutions to our problems and did their work. The replacement of the deck was an insurance deal. They knew how to talk to the inspectors. When they needed a specialist - an electrician for example - they brought in a good guy. They knew their business. They extended themselves, particularly in light of the difficult certification, licensing, registration and approval processes in D.C. They understood the process. We needed to have someone on hand when waiting for an inspector; moreover, the inspector did not show on several occasions. We selected the materials. They were very clear about showing us what would happen with the windows and the walls. They asked us how thick we wanted it, how much installation, and so on. They were quite responsive. We had an issue with some water damage, and they thought that I was suggesting that they had caused it, so the father called the next morning; I clarified to him that the damage was because of the rain. They feel very liable and responsible for their work and product. I am not sure of the price because it was in two payments, but they were very fair and appropriate with their pricing. They came in at a very reasonable price compared to another company. We could not have gotten a better deal. I would give them a very high rating and would use them again in the future if necessary."

"They did a good job but I thought they could do better. It was an average job because there was a lot of damage to the house. They came in and did the repairs and met all the needs because I had a tree go through the house and was in my china cabinet. This was in 2010-2011 and already the shingles are starting to alligator or raise up. They cleaned up well and were prompt and courteous. I am disappointed that 3-1/2 years later my shingles are starting to alligator. It is nothing that you want to put them in the penalty box for but the job was not perfect. They were there right when they said and there was easy contact. There was nothing that they were not good at.
