"I joined Angie's List in 2013 and I liked the service I received from Pacific Plumbing so much that I had to post a review, even though the service was provided in 2010 and 2011.  Robert has shown up exactly on time for all but one scheduled appointment I have had with him, and for the one delay, he called before the scheduled time to let me know he was running late.  He knows his business and I have complete trust in his abilities and his recommendations.  He did the plumbing in two bathrooms that I remodeled myself.  I appreciated the extra time he took to answer my questions about  shower, sink and toilet installation which I planned to do myself.  In my second bathroom remodel, I installed a custom fabricated shower pan that was extremely heavy.  I contracted Robert to prepare the shower drain so that the shower pan could be installed and when he was finished, he offered to help move the shower pan into place before he left (not part of the contracted job).  I was so grateful for his help because I don't know that my husband and I could have placed it ourselves.  I find his prices to be very reasonable, but to be honest, I don't bother to gather estimates anymore.  Robert is MY plumber! <br /> I am about to start remodeling my kitchen and he will be moving the refrigerator water line from one wall to another.  I can hardly wait to work with Robert again.  He is a delight!  <br /> I go out of my way to recommend Pacific Plumbing any time I can. <br />"

"We got just what we ordered and our cabinets arrived well packaged and were delivered on schedule. The representatives were readily available, and able to answer all of our questions. They seemed pleased to  help with a new kitchen layout. They were helpful and seemed happy to help even after we changed our minds on some details a couple of times. They are very professional and dependable."

"I was frustrated that they didn't cover our garbage disposal and they didn't cover the thermostat, otherwise everything we did there was great. I didn't have any problems. It's $50 a month, and then everything is covered. You don't have to pay for people to come out. When our hot water heater broke, we had to pay for the new water heater, but that just for the actual thing, not anything else like the service or installation."

"As aways, Chris and his associate were prompt, friendly and very helpful. I have my window swamp cooler removed from the window each Fall and have Coppersmith put it back up each Spring. I wanted it moved to a different window this time so they removed the hooks that hold the cooler from one window and installed them in another. Chris even offered to caulk the holes in the wall at the previous position but I said I would caulk and paint them.  He offered again before he left.  I've used Coppersmith for the last 9 years and have always appreciated their service. <br />"

"Roy came in and laid out the seven shower heads (yes, it is a large shower) and installed the steam generation unit in just a couple of days. It required some work in the crawl space, too. (yikes - spiders) The recommendation (Keith's review of the job) to put in an auto flush on the steam unit was something I didn't even know existed. It will keep the water fresh each time the steam unit is used. These guys are the best. I'd invite them back to work for us again. Quality and value."

"Excellent! Technician arrived on time. He took time to give an overview of how the process would go. During the process, he explained each step as he was getting ready to preform them. He masked the surrounding areas extremely well. There was a bit of dust from leveling the seams in the icountertop, but it was not bad. The extensive masking and plastic sheeting helped minimize the dust. There is odor with this process which is no surprise. The technician used an exhaust machine and fans. The odor actually dissipated rather quickly, but during the process, it is a bit strong. The job was done in less time than originally estimated. It took about 1 1/2 days. This is due to the drying times required between steps. Before the technician left, we went around and inspected each surface to insure my satisfaction. The counters are good for light use in 24 hours, but you should not set things on them "permanently" for 3 days. The results are stunning. Such a difference! I would like to note that during the planning process, the franchise owner was extremely responsive and several days before the job was to begin, I received a confirmation call from the office. FYI: the cost of service includes travel time and lodging for the technician as we are located 175 miles from the franchise office."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Pitkin, CO

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
