"I completed a remodel of a master bedroom/sitting room. I added a walk in closet in the sitting room and added a hallway & separated the sitting room from the master bedroom which made a fifth bedroom. I needed missing carpet areas to be patched in and also needed the carpet stretched and re tacked. After calling Anthony and explaining the job to him, I was sure that I had found the right person. When Anthony arrived and went to work, the resulting repairs and existing carpeting looked great after getting the carpet stretched again. Anthony was very knowledgeable and professional. I will call him again on my next job that I need carpeting services and I will definitely use him if I need brand new carpeting to quote out. Thank you again Anthony!"

"Always evaluate the quality of the carpet you need and the quality of the mill end you are purchasing from Karpet Korner. They carry different grades of carpet, and choosing wisely is key to a satisfactory experience with them. I did not have any previous experience with carpet when I first bought from them. However, you can tell a lot from the tufting and density of the fibers. <br />"

"Replaced old carpet in Dining Room, Family Room and Living Room with new carpet. Annette was very helpful in assisting us in the Napervlle store while selecting the carpet and scheduling. The installers were professional, quick and cleaned up after the job including hauling away all the old materials. We are very happy with the quality of the work and love the new look. Would definitely recommend FCA."

"We needed new draperies, were given some suggestions on Angie's List, but one was too far away, one did not answer her phone. We noticed that Wyanet Carpet now has draperies. A very personable designer came to our home, helped us choose the drapes, did all of the measuring and ordering. The order came in a little early; the designer and an installer came with new rods, completed the project flawlessly, as well as helping to repair the rods in another room. They were both very detail oriented. The price is within the range one should expect for custom, high quality draperies. We are very, very pleased."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Plano, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
