"These guys were great. They came out to give me an estimate and were very helpful with ideas on what needed done. I hired them to come out on a later date and they were punctual. The job was done correctly and they removed the old wiring and replaced it with the proper gauge wiring that met code. I had the home inspected later on and it passed with no concerns. I would hire them again."

"I have used all branches of this company, some more than once. They are courteous, informative and take the time to make you comfortable with the job. My electrical panel was not done by a professional, we had outlets that were intermittent, burnt wires in the box and lost a 115V line to the house, we had to get the electric company out and rewire the house. Everything was done neat and tidy, cleaned up after, verified that everything worked. I use all of the Today services."

"Installed new wiring and panel box and breakers. Also added fixtures inside and out. They were prompt and hard-working. However, we still have to reset certain breakers. So needless to say, were not satisfied with the end product."

"I hired Amperial Electric to install an EV charger and install a secondary panel, as my main electrical panel was full and was not rated to allow twin/tandem breakers. I could not be more satisfied with the experience! Chance, the owner, was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough in explaining everything to me. As someone who isn’t well-versed in electrical systems or code, I really appreciated his attention to detail and patience. Unlike many of the big-box companies I received quotes from, Chance’s follow-up was prompt, respectful, and completely pressure-free. That alone made a big difference. The fact that he is fully licensed and insured was also a major factor in my decision—peace of mind was important to me, and he delivered. Chance is clearly passionate about what he does and takes pride in doing things the right way. If you’re looking for someone who stands by their work and genuinely cares about quality and safety, I highly recommend Amperial Electric!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Plant City, FL

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
