"Drew and his team did an exceptional job making our landscaping dreams come to life. Drew was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. He kept us updated and did a great job of checking in during the process when little changes were possible/necessary. We are a new construction home in an established neighborhood, so we wanted a certain look. He installed rain gardens, a bio swale, a blue stone paver patio, concrete pads, arbor vitae, two retaining walls, a sprinkler system, and planter boxes, as well as planting many flowers, bushes, shrubs, etc., We are so happy and would 10/10 reccomend!"

"Gerry tore out & replaced our old driveway, in addition to doing the same at a neighbor's house. The price was great, and his crew did a great job! We wound up with what looked like a beaver dam from all the roots they tore out from under the old driveway. The only problem was the torrential rains that arrived after the demo, but can't do much about that. First dry day afterwards they were back bright and early, and we now have a beautiful front half of a driveway. We look forward to the day we've saved up so we can have Vento come back and do the back half too. We would highly recommend them!"

"I Had RJ Brothers Cement widen and replace my driveway in June of 2022. This is how it looks 2 years later. Their response was "unfortunately there is nothing we can do". We followed all of their recommendations of care and did NOT use salt on the driveway. Though the job was originally performed in a professional manner I would not use their services again in the future nor would I recommend their services due to the outcome just 2 years later."

"Kevon and Doc solved a complicated chimney/fireplace issues at our home a few years ago. Our chimney had been built incorrectly and we replaced our gas insert. We couldn't have been happier to have their expertise. We have continued to use to maintain the sealed gas insert they replaced. They are knowledgeable, honest and reliable."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Plymouth, MI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
