"The job we did included a complete demolition of the backyard. Henry and his crew pushed back the retaining wall to give us more space. Rebuilt the wall. Added some dimension to the backyard by putting a raised area. Installed new pavers, patio, lighting, irrigation, and plants. Also, custom designed a fireplace to add as a focal feature. The entire project took a little over 3 months. Henry's crew was there everyday sometimes even on Saturday. The only delays was due to rain or city permits etc. The complete project surpasses any of our expectations. Even with the 3D drawings, it was hard to picture what it would look like with everything put together - down to the stucco color with pavers style, or concrete color with pavers color etc. It is clear that Henry knows exactly what he is doing and his experience shows. He was advising us the entire way taking into account our preferences and style. Henry even accompanied us to the nursery to pick out trees, shrubs and plants that would be complementary to the landscape while keeping in mind the maintainability especially with a pool in the backyard. The project encountered some unknowns (every project does) and Henry shows his experience through his responsiveness and extensive network of contractors. Even now after the project has been completed for a couple of months, if there is an issue, we can still call him and he will send over someone to take care of it. We would definitely hire him again."

"I called Garcia's Gardening Service and spoke with Martin Garcia. I explained that I would like to have some landscaping done to my backyard as I have 3 dogs (2 Labrador Retriever puppies and one 4 year old Lab) and that I needed a pet friendly backyard that will also look nice. He came by the next day and we went over my idea's for my backyard. My priority was needing the side of my house turned into a dog run, so that when the dogs are not in my house, they have a safe place to stay and to use for a potty area. I explained that without a dog run, the backyard landscaping could not be accomplished.He measured all areas and gave me a quote for the services needed. These were trimming and lacing back one tree 25' tall, removal of 3/4 size gravel from side of house and disposing of it and installing 2 yards of pea gravel creating a dog run. Extend drainage from dog run another 20 feet , install wire mesh on 3 drainage grates to keep dogs from damaging them. Martin suggested replacing old, leaking irrigation valves in front lawn and upgrading the indoor timer from 6 stations to 9 stations to cover all areas of irrigation in backyard. I concurred with that. I also needed 3 medium sized shrubs removed from my old damaged rear planter. He suggested that I have them install a 3/4 size valve for the garden area in the back and to change old sprinklers for the lawn and planter areas. I agreed. <br /> Because of the rainy season, the work was completed by December 30 and I did not have a problem with that. I also asked Mr. Garcia for a quote to build a new planter by rear lawn including removing old planter and constructing a new one 60 feet long by 2 feet high. He did this around the second or third week of December, completing it by Christmas. He also extended the planter sprinkler line another 25 feet. I will have him fill the planter and plant shrubs in Spring when there are more plant choices. Two of the sprinkler heads in the planter do not work, but he said that he would fix it when he comes back to complete my landscaping. I trust him as he has done an excellent job so far. He has been very friendly and thorough. He checked on his workers at least once or twice during the days they were here, even doing the work himself. We were communicating throughout the process. And he was patient with my dogs needing to be let out to the dog run to potty throughout the days of working, and he was accommodating with the changes that I had made throughout the process. <br /> In November,he also quoted me for removal of old grass and also to grade and level my backyard and to install St. Augustine plugs, including mulch, fertilizer and labor, but as time went on, in December, we decided to ask for a quote for St. Augustine sod as we were going into the winter season, and I thought it best to wait until spring when St. Augustine sod isn't dormant and would take much easier than the plugs.He emailed me this quote. This we will have them do in the spring along with placing shrubs and plants in the planter area. <br /> He also removed my old fence and irrigation from my garden and did not charge me for it, and he also removed some and quot;junkand quot; and hauled it away. That's going beyond service. They are very hard workers. <br /> Although I still need my lawn graded, and sod, plants, mulch,etc. installed in the spring (my decision), I will be happy to have Martin Garcia and crew do this work for me. <br />"

"Rudy showed up on time with his guy's ready to go. He personally instructed his men to do the work. They were all very nice and introduced themselves. His son's were helping him and I like family run businesses. We discussed our needs, and the cost and we were off. No changes to the original quote, no new charges or requirements, and he brought plenty of help. These guys started right away, trimming, hedging, and cleaning. They filled a truck full of yard debris in no time. They cleaned up everywhere, including places I had not emphasized the need. They went above and beyond and were very respectfull of the property. In no time they had knocked out the job. I felt like they treated my house the way they would their own. Very thorough. I Would hire these guys again and again and plan to. <br />"

"Jay & Janus Pest Management is fantastic!   We recently moved into our 1931 spanish style home and found we had many spiders both inside & outside the house.  We picked them based on their excellent reviews and service award on Angie's list.   <br /> Jay & Janus Pest Management have truly exceeded the excellent reviews they've received on Angie's list!   <br /> We first met Jay in July of 2011.  Like other satisfied Angie's List members, I called for a quote and was happy to receive a quick response from the owner of the company Jay himself.  Jay was very personable and made himself available to meet right away the following Saturday morning since both my husband and I work.  Jay sprayed for pests (including spiders) both inside & outside our home.  Jay also inspected our home for rodents in the attic and below the house.  Jay found and removed a very old rodent carcus on his first visit.  He also indicated possible points of entry for the attic and below the house.  Jay set traps in the attic and below the house.  On his next visit, Jay removed a recently trapped rodent from below the house.  Jay and his associate Michael continued to monitor the rodent problem weekly for the next several weeks.  They diagnosed the problem and shored up the entry points with wire screens to prevent further rodents from entering.  Michael even squeezed himself into an extremely tiny crawl space in our attic to secure one of the wire screens.  Jay & Michael were extremely personable, professional, prompt (often arriving early), efficient, honest, and responsive to our needs.  They also routinely sprayed for pests especially all the various spiders we'd been finding both inside & outside our home.  It made a huge difference in our quality of life and got rid of both the spiders and rodents invading our home.  We are extremely pleased with their service and have already highly recommended them to two of our friends.  We continue to use their services to this day to maintain pest & rodent control.  We are now using them to help trap a pesky raccoon that is tearing up our lawn.  Jay, Michael, and Janus Pest Management is an excellent company that gives fantastic service and pest control while also giving you a very personal and professional experience."
