"This was a very satisfying experience. Frank called before coming on the day of service. He was on time and professional while also being cordial. The work was done efficiently and with skill, including 8 stair steps. He (and helper) cleaned up well and the work was excellent. Two of the items he moved were a large (and heavy) grandfather clock and a 70" HD TV with stand. He handled them well without incident. All in all, it was a very positive experience which, under less capable hands, could have been a disaster for me."

"We were concerned about some of the pet stains that had been cleaned by the renters and yet they were still visible. He assured us that he could get most if not all the stains out. And he did a wonderful job. Our carpet has not looked this good in quite some time. We were very pleased with the professional work and the fair price was a plus. We will call on them again for their excellent service. <br />"

"We need to replace some carpet so we went the McCrories. We spent some time with May Graves who gave us excellent advise and showed us all our options, which were many. They installers came out on the appointed day and spent less time then was estimated to install carpet in our living room and our grandkids bedroom. They also created us a runner out of left over carpet and didn't charge extra for it. A great company to do business with. <br />"

"Lori graciously lent us carpet samples to help us decide which carpet was our choice in our own home.  Blake arrived at our home on schedule and completed the measuring process quickly.  Lori ordered the carpet and scheduled the installation to coincide with the painting we had planned to complete before the carpeting install.  When Carl, the warehouse manager found the carpet we'd chosen would take longer to arrive, Lori took the initiative and suggested we try to find an alternate to speed up the process.  When we arrived at the store, she had samples out and we found one of her suggestions was close enough to be substituted.  The order arrived on time and the installer arrived at our home as scheduled.  Brian, the installer, and his assistant removed the old carpeting and pad, installed the new carpeting and pad and cleaned up everything before they left.  We were pleased with their attention to detail.  Every person from Abbey Capitol Floors and Interiors acted respectfully and professionally.  We worked with many companies in the last few months as we moved from one house to another.  Abbey Capitol stands out because they met their dates and did just what they said they would.  Ironically, we first went to Abbey Capitol Floors to look for an area rug.  They did such a good job on our carpeting that we will visit them again when we are ready to purchase that area rug."

"Overall, it went very well from start to finish. I called and they called back very soon. I then scheduled an appointment. They showed up on time and did a very thorough job. My carpets look new again! They were very professional and I would recommend this company to anybody looking to have their carpets cleaned. I will be using them in the future (every six months to a year)."

"Overall the installation was great. Reinstall on the toilet did not go smoothly, but they offered to come back out and try again. Quality capret and vinyl at a reasonable price. Scheduling was great and the job was completed on time and within budget. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Port Angeles, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
