"Excellent experience! Home Care is a very professional business and our concerns were handled courteously and promptly. An appointment for a thorough inspection of the exterior and interior of the chimney was arranged shortly after our first call. The compromised part of the chimney was protected with a tarpaulin which was attached so securely that it remained in place during this winter's high winds. Mr. Atchley met with us to discuss the problems. He presented options, listened to our preferences, and made additional recommendations. We received a detailed estimate shortly afterwards. The work was started on schedule and the work crew arrived on time each day, so we never had to wait for their arrival. The crew cleaned up each day, respecting our home and property through the removal of our old chimney and fireplace and installation of the new materials. We were kept informed during the process so we were always aware of the progress of the work and what would be done the next day. Our rebuilt chimney is of superior craftsmanship to the original. The new gas fireplace and tile surround looks amazing and is the focal point of our living room. Our house is warmer and quieter as a result of this project. We highly recommend the professionals at Home Care Chimney for maintenance, repair, and renovation of fireplaces and chimneys."

"They were on time and very professional. They were knowledgeable and not pushy nor did they try to find something wrong. The only downside was the price. I felt the price was a too much to simply vacuum the fireplace and logs. I could have done that myself. I was under the impression they were going to clean the logs."

"The old fireplace was rusted and had to be replaced together with the flue and the covers at the top of the chimney. The project was done on time and at the cost within the limits quoted initially. There were no cost surprises at the end of the project. They also work with a credit company that can finance the project for a good deal (no interest for 18 months at that time). The team was professional and they finished the work on time (the actual work took about two days). The cost was maybe a bit more pricey than the average, but the job was well done and without extra costs or surprises at the end."

"WE believe in the importance of keeping a chimney clean so finding someone to do it that was quality was our goal when we moved to the northwoods of Menominee County MI. UP Chimney has been our go to for this job and they do a great job. Very professional - a very dirty job indeed, however you would never know it from the way they keep the area clean. Nice job UP Chimney"

"I selected Alpha & Omega because they offered a camera inspection of chimneys and since it was off season they were running a special promotion. Technicians were on time and professional, chimney was very dirty but the crew protected the area around the fireplace. They inspected the hot water heater venting and informed me that it was not to current code. When I latter had my gas meter upgraded, the Consumers technician failed my hot water heater due to improper venting. I had Alpha & Omega return to upgrade my hot water heater vent and install a chimney liner with a chimney cap. I did not get any other quotes for these services as the prices seemed reasonable based on past experience."

"A repair man giving me an estimate on some work we needed done, recommended I contact Bob's Sheet Metal on the furnace vent pipe repair we needed. Their label was on the furnace.I left a voicemail after hours and faxed pictures of the repairs needed. They called me back the next business day, gave me an estimate over the phone of about $200, and arranged an appt to do the work. They showed up on time, did the work in short order, very professionally. And even gave me the name of another repair service to do the other repairs we were trying to get done. Great experience with Bob's Sheet Metal. <br />"

"We had noticed a smell for a while, and then were suddenly flooded with flies.  We had been led to rule out the chimney by another nuissance control guy.  But eventually it became clear the flies were coming from the chimney.  This time we called Aaron.  He came the next day.  He very methodically and patiently worked until he located the dead/decaying squirrel carcass that was causing our problems.  He couldn't see down into our chimney because of the cable operated lid on the chimney.  He had to use a remote video camera to find it.  Even then, he couldn't see anything at first... but he kept persisting.  Eventually he found it.  He then carefully removed it, clean out the area, disinfected.  What most impressed me about him was his tenacity, he didn't give up, even though it took a while even with the remote video camera to locate the problem, and even though someone else had come and told us that we didn't have an animal in our chimney.  Based on this experience I wouldn't go with anyone else.  Truly first rate work. <br />"

"Excellent customer service by phone.  But... please read it all! <br> <br>Good on site explanation of the process involved, with some omissions.  (Those of us who do not do this work for a living do not know everything to ask!)  A hole is drilled into the concrete slab so a nozzle can be inserted and their material can be pumped under the slab, which will raise it to the proper level.  The hole is about the size of your pinky.  The tech who is doing the job will then add a little sand to conceal this small hole as much as possible.  THIS IS TRUE.   <br> <br>What is also true:  The material pumped under the slab has a very sticky nature and the overspray sticks to the area around the pinky hole.  This allows the sand to stick to the surface around the hole leaving a spot about the size of your palm.  We're 'assuming' this will wear away in time. <br>It is also true the slab being corrected can crack when it's being raised. <br> <br>It is also true the drill will pierce the concrete and can sever a wire under your sidewalk.  Yes... it did. <br>This knocked an electric post lantern out of service in our front yard.  Certainly  not life threatening, but c'mon. <br>Once we had figured out what happened, I contacted Acculevel and was 'well treated' in the sense I was given the impression Acculevel would make it right. <br>I had a professional electrician (all A's on Angie's List) inspect the situation and I was given a "repair" quote and a "perfection" quote.  The repair quote was $260 and would restore the light to the way the builder had installed it.  The perfection quote was around $900 and would get the electric line buried deeper and placed in conduit, rather than simple UF cable.  I asked Acculevel to pay for the repair, and told them I would most likely pay the electrician to do the perfection version. <br> <br>Acculevel determined they should pay half of the repair quote.  I do not know their formula for calculating how much of the severed electric line was my fault, but that's what they came up with.  You decide. <br> <br>I also asked Acculevel why they did not have the area marked prior to the work.  (Our work involved drilling through the slabs... the lantern was right next to the sidewalk... and our work involved digging a trench to extend a downspout further into our yard and under the sidewalk.  So... there's a fair amount of digging involved in this job and plenty of reason to call before you dig.  811)   <br>Acculevel's response was: 'We don't do that.' <br> <br>So the "Slab-Jack" work they did was done well.  But I can't give them an A because of the damage done.  They were very responsive to me from the quoting stage all the way through the final disappointment.  So, they get an A for that. <br>I gave them a C for professionalism because C is average.  I thought I was working with an above average company but I don't feel they handled the problems professionally. <br>I feel the right thing to do would have been to pay the entire repair amount of $260 without protest. <br>I feel they should always call 811 to have an area marked when they will be digging OR drilling.  (It's free!  And, it would have saved me $900.) <br>IF YOU ARE WORKING WITH ACCULEVEL (OR ANY LANDSCAPER OR CONTRACTOR WHO IS GOING TO BE DIGGING OR DRILLING ON YOUR  PROPERTY) ASK THEM IF THEY WILL HAVE YOUR PROPERTY MARKED IN ADVANCE OF THE JOB.  IF THEY SAY NO, EITHER FIND ANOTHER SERVICE PROVIDER OR CALL 811 YOURSELF!  It's just common sense! <br> <br>I actually WOULD hire Acculevel again, and I recommend them!  BUT - ASK EVERY QUESTION YOU CAN THINK OF and BEWARE that somehow severed electrical lines... TV cables... invisible fences... gas lines... and more, are NOT their fault.  To Acculevel: I would seriously recommend putting the 811 call into your standard procedure.  It would give you a REAL disclaimer to stand on should a line be damaged and was NOT marked.  Also - place some sort of protector sheet on the slab (maybe with a stick back) BEFORE you drill through it.  The protector sheet will catch most of the overspray and leave a neater look behind.  Rather than a sloppy finish. <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br>"
