Residential and commercial painting

"I contacted a paining company that had a good reputation. After lack luster communication it was easy to determine that this "good" company felt it was too good for my project. I contacted other paint companies and got estimates in a timely manner. All Pro was friendly to deal with. They did not promise me the moon since it was good outdoor painting season and I was informed that if there were to be a lousy weather situation I would be cared for. All Pro came to do the job earlier than they anticipated, brought a decent size crew, asked directions of me when items were ambiguous, and completed the job in a great manner. This review comes 6 months after the job was completed. The "good" company responded to a revue I had given the concerning poor communication they gave men: their response included insulting me and falsehoods. I felt compelled to give All Pro the review they earned because of their professional service. I may be contacted at yitzak@columbus.rr.com if any one wishes more detail"

Since 1987 The Basement Doctor has been providing expert wet basement waterproofing, foundation repair, crawl space vapor barrier, basement finishing, and mold and spray foam insulation services. We give free inspections and detailed written estimates to homeowners in the Columbus and central Ohio area. Our solutions have expanded to include back-up standby electrical generators. Selecting the right contractor to let into your home is a very important decision. The Basement Doctor respects you and your home – expertly performing the contracted work, being punctual, employing a drug free workforce, and skilled experienced installers. We only use ethical sales practices and honor warranties without hassle. All of our staff follows clear rules of respect, responsibility and integrity. We treat you the way we'd want our own families treated. Financing is available, lender qualifications apply. Additional services: mold clean-up & prevention, basement finishing, dehumidification & battery back-up sump pumps and emergency response to flooded basements.

"Basement Doctor work crews were prompt and polite, accommodated my requests, and cleaned up beyond my expectations. There were, however, significant problems. Estimate was incomplete -- need for dehumidifier was not emphasized until after the work was in progress so was not in the contract. Cement dust was bad enough to injure my lung. However, Basement Doctor made what seemed like reasonable effort to contain the dust. The same might have happened no matter who did the work. After phase one was done, there was dampness along the crawlspace wall where drainage had been installed. I was told that it was not wet. In order for it to be wet, there had to be standing water. When examining the conditions in order make an estimate for phase 2, my project manager looked at the crawlspace drainage that had been installed in phase 1, he saw something that caused him to call the production manager, then told me that there was a problem with the drainpipe as installed in phase 1 and that it would be replaced in phase 2. This left me with worry about whether the rest of the work had been done correctly. When phase 2 was complete, I expressed disappointment that the appearance of the encapsulation did not live up to expectations. Primarily, the taped joint between the material used on the floor and part way up the wall and the silver insulated material used on the was not level, and was wavy to an unsightly extent The white material billowed out from the wall into the floor space rather than going down the wall consistently then out onto the floor. The project manager said that Basement Doctor guaranteed the function of the work, not its appearance. The foreman said that the white material would, over time conform to the wall. (It hasn't.) The project manager said the production manager (director?) would call me. It took three months and a nasty letter from me for that call to be received. When he came to my home the production manager reiterated that Basement Doctor stood behind the function of their work, not its appearance -- at least for the type of work done in my home. He said that there had been no problem with the drainage pipe that had been replaced, but that it had been replaced at my request. At that point I wondered who I should believe. He did improve the appearance of the encapsulation by adding tape so the joint was no longer wavy."

Most jobs I do by myself. On some jobs I will have up to 4 employees. With tasks that not in my trade, I will give the home or business owner choose who sub contracts or I can find one for them. Upon bidding a job, I fill out a detailed job proposal that gives specifics on billing.

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Portsmouth, OH

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
