"The staff at Garvey's in Bloomsburg was terrific.  Our salesperson, Brady, was very informative and helpful when we were choosing our carpet.  He asked a lot of questions and really took the time to get to know us and learn about our flooring needs.  Al came to measure for carpet just a few days after we first walked into the showroom and within hours after the measurement Brady contacted us with a quote.   <br /> The installers arrived right on time and were very professional, friendly, and courteous.  They worked quickly and efficiently and explained what we can expect from our new carpet.  They even gave us more flooring ideas for the other rooms in our home!  Talk about service! <br /> On top of the outstanding service, our carpet looks amazing and comes with both the Stainmaster guarantee and Garvey's lifetime installation guarantee.  We looked at some big-box store to get carpet, but the warranty couldn't touch the installation warranty from Garvey's. <br /> For any other household projects we will most definitely be visiting Garvey's Flooring America first!!! <br />"

"Garvey's did a great job with both the sales and installation aspects of the job. Purchasing the carpet went well, do not be afraid to be assertive and tell the salesperson exactly what you want. They often have offers available to get you better pricing or upgrades. We were able to work with the salesperson and ended up with a good deal that gave us upgraded padding for free and a discount on the carpet because we were doing all the rooms with the same flooring. <br /> The installation was fantastic, the guys who put the carpet in worked extremely fast and did a great job. They were actually an independent contractor who does work for Garvey's. They left the area clean and explained any problems they ran into and how they solved the issue. <br />"

"They did an excellent job. We bought the flooring from another company who uses them as a third party for installation. They did a very good job in installation. They did the job very quickly and cleaned up. The speed of the service was the best. There were no flaws in the installation of the laminate; there wasn't even one spot that wasn't really well done. Three guys came in and worked on it continuously. We didn't know where they found so much energy to do it because there was quite a bit of area that had to be covered, like about 1500 sq feet. They were good and so was their pricing."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Pottsville, PA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
