Small jobs welcome

"We were thrilled with Arek and his team. Their work is beautiful, careful and clean. Arex was responsive, gave us helpful suggestions, and got the project started immediately. They were finished ahead of schedule! They left our house more organized than they found it. Could not recommend more. "

Customers say: True professional

"Porteus Contracting Corp. is absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, the communication, professionalism, and quality of work were top-tier. He showed up on time, explained everything clearly, and delivered exactly what he promised — even better than expected. It’s rare to find a contractor who is reliable, honest, and meticulous, but he truly is. The job was done efficiently and with excellent craftsmanship. He treated my home with care, kept everything clean, and made the whole process stress-free. I would 100% hire him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality work and trustworthy service."

"We used Anton and his team for remodeling our basement and garage after we had water damage. They put up replacement pieces of sheetrock which looked amazing. Absolutely no lines just perfectly level walls. Their workmanship was outstanding. The owner was on site a lot of the time and his team worked very neatly. The painting was simply outstanding. The room looks like brand new. Pricing was extremely fair especially for such quality, high end work. Anton and European Craftsman will be our only call the next time we need work done. Thank you Anton!"

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Poughkeepsie, NY

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
