Brian brought in a heavy duty brass valve replacement and skillfully removed the old valve and installed the new one. He cut and replaced nearby pipes as needed and offered suggestions on keeping our hot water heater in service a little longer. He did a surpurb job. Really a skilled plumber."

"We purchased a new Gas Range for our kitchen form Lowe's. When the delivery guys arrived they couldn't install it because the shut off valve was in the crawlspace and not easily accessible. Also there was a copper pipe which was not up to code that needed to be replaced with iron pipe. I found Plumb Doctor on Angie's list and called and they were here a couple of hours later on the same day. Kenny did the work. He replaced the copper tubing with 3/4" gas line in the crawlspace and up through the floor, replaced the existing shut off valve in the crawlspace with a new one, installed a new shut off valve above the floor behind the stove, and connected and tested the range. He was a great guy and even fixed a leaky water pipe for an additional charge before he left. I didn't get any other estimates to compare prices because I needed the oven installed as quickly as possible, so I don't know how their prices compare but Kenny's work was thorough and it was a pleasure to meet him. The price below is $1,374 for gas line work and $285 for fixing the leaking water pipe. Since he was already here I saved the $49 service charge for the leaky water pipe repair."

"I noticed a Big Deal posting for American Freedom for 2 hours of labor at $99.  I also noticed that all of the previous reviews for American Freedom were very good.  While looking at the Big Deal I noticed there was another one for water heater replacement.  I called James to get more info about the water heaters they use and to see if I wanted to buy the deal for replacement or buy my own from Lowes or Home Depot and use the 2 hour labor deal to have one of his plumbers handle the install.
I called James on a Saturday.  He answered the questions I had and even though one of the deals was about to expire, he said I could still use it.   He called me back on Monday as agreed and I scheduled an appointment for the following day.  Rob arrived at the scheduled time on Tuesday to handle the repairs.  He checked out the water heater and then I showed him the other jobs I was interested in getting resolved while he was there - both showers had leaky faucets and one toilet wouldn't shut off when filling.  After he wrote up the quote, I agreed to do the following:  big deal for the water heater replacement, big deal for 2 hours of labor at $99, and the toilet repair (could've done this one but decided to have Rob go ahead and take care of it while he was here and have all current issues resolved). 
Rob did a great job on the work which also involved adding a thermal expansion tank to bring the water heater to code.  One of the faucet repairs didn't cooperate which caused Rob to stay over longer than expected.  He had to do some extra work and also had to go through sheetrock from the closet to get to the fixture to complete the repair.  Rob did not charge extra for this added work and the sheetrock cuts were neat so that the original pieces can be reused to repair the wall.  Also, part of the cast iron drain pipe had to be replaced with pvc to resolve another leak at the tub.
I am pleased with the work that Rob did and am glad I had him do the faucet repair instead of trying it myself - especially after the work he put into it to properly fix it (sounds like it should have been a simple repair but it wasn't).   The next time I need plumbing service I plan to call James at American Freedom first and I will ask if Rob is available to come out.  My main concern when I knew I needed a new water heater was who to call?  With the big deal offer and the good recommendations on Angie's List for American Freedom from previous customers my decision was made easier.
