"I started off wanting a simple concrete work done on a pathway and patio. Marvin showed me paver options that I hadn't previously considered and even though they increased the price of the project, I am so much happier with the look of the end result. Everything is beautiful. The crew did fabulous work. My husband and I are looking forward to enjoying our new outdoor spaces for years to come."

"I couldn't be happier with how our patio project turned out and would highly recommend Ageless Concrete. We really had no creative idea what we wanted, just a rough general idea. Aaron did a fantastic job designing a project that we both loved from the initial draft. HIs crew was excellent, timely, and very hardworking and easy to work with! We love our patio!!"

"Best Buds staff were courteous, responsive and timely.  They provided an excellent service at a great value.  They cleaned up after the work and left my property spotless.  I have continued to use them for lawn care services and will use them again next spring for additional landscape work that I need done in the back yard. <br />"

"Sully, the owner, was responsive to my request for a bid to replace our 2010 Subaru Outback transmission. The dealer wanted $7,500 so I was looking around for alternatives. Given positive reviews on Angie's list I reached out and was glad I did. Sully came back with two options, a used transmission and a rebuilt one. Both were less expensive than the dealer and other bids received. I went with the used one given low mileage on the transmission and the cost savings. He arranged to pick it up and install it, finishing within the timeframe he estimated. So far, so good."

"My mailbox fell apart and could not be repaired. It needed a new post and everything. This occurred the first week of December and although the ground was not yet frozen, I was concerned that it could soon become frozen.  This is Wisconsin, after all. I called all the highly rated handyman providers, and they all were booked for at least two weeks and some were busy through January or February. I decided to take a chance on Property Image, even though they had only a few reviews. The entire process went really well. They could not set up an available date for three days or so, but they communicated with me so I knew they were coming. I also could not be there during the work, which was not a problem for them. They offered to buy a new mailbox for me, but I wanted to choose one myself. I bought one (they purchased a post), and left it on my front porch in the morning. I came home that evening and it was installed perfectly, just the right distance from the street, level and sturdy in the ground. The landscaping around the post looked like it was barely touched. They billed me about a week later. It all worked out and I love my new mailbox <br />"

"The project came out much better than I ever thought it would. We had pulled up the carpet and tile on the basement floor and it had left a black mastic that we could not get up. We did not want either tile or carpet back in the basement in case of any water leeks. Although  A O Handy is in Wisconsin, they assured me that it was not a problem for them coming to Chicago for the work. They ground down the cement floor in the basement (about 1000 sq ft) to remove the mastic and to level out some floor. In addition, they filled holes with a cement that matched the existing floor. They applied a clear sealer to the floor. While they were there, they suggested that they seal the concrete floor in the garage. Since they had all the materials there already, the cost would be significantly lower. Made sense to me, so I had them do that also. In that I had put most of the things from the basement in the garage, preping the garage was a huge job. The guys helped me clear out the garage and were a big help, especially with the heavy things. The only down side to the project was the odor from the sealer. The garage odor cleared out quickly, but it took weeks for the basement to air out since there was so little ventilation there. The finished results: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE??.. <br />"

"They did an excellent job and I have no complaints. They gave us an estimate and it cost what the estimate was. There were no extra charges and they came when scheduled. They cleaned up afterwards. We were satisfied with their work. I didn't get any other bids so I don't know how the price compared."

"I think they did a good job of fixing the seapage problem. There were disappointments in the area of professionalism, which I reported to one of the partners after the project was completed; the partner thanked me for my comments and indicated a willingness to improve their practices. Here is one example of the experience that was especially annoying. Nobody would be at home for a few hours, and before leaving, I checked with one of the partners to make sure that his crew would not need access to the house during that time. He said there was no need to get in the house. A few hours later I returned, and found one of the crew working with the sump pits in the basement. I thought I had locked the door, so I don't know how he got in. In any case, it was irritating to have a stranger being in our house unattended, and seeing how he had gotten dirt on the walls around several light switches in his effort to find the sump pits, and then seeing him actually using MY tools! This company can do a good job, but I recommend that customers watch them closely and keep asking questions. <br /> <br /> The partner I dealt with most was responsive and prompt, and I have the impression that he cares about providing good service."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Poynette, WI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
