"The reason I gave a B in Punctuality is because I initially tried to use their website to schedule online. When I didn't receive a response, I phoned and found out that the business is in the process of changing hands (purchased by brother), and website was not yet updated. Phone calls were returned promptly. Three guys, on time, very polite, very thorough and careful, very efficient. And discount for mentioning Angie's List!"

"Brilliantly. Eric replied to my initial inquiry promptly; he checked in every day to confirm date and time; he drove perilously icy roads and bad weather to get to the location; he made the pick-up and hauling effortless; he brought the table into the house and moved a table already there to a different room. No one else, locally, seems to do these small hauling jobs. Strongly recommended."

"SELECTION: I ended up choosing this company because the estimate process was quick, courteous, and professional. I was told that the estimte I received included a little buffer time so that my estimate would be the maximum I should expect to pay. I thought I could help reduce my cost by doing some packing/moving ahead of time, but in the end I still paid more than I was quoted. <br /> <br /> MOVING DAY: The movers were nice, helpful, and personable, but that's where the pleasantness of the move day ends. They arrived around 8:45. Well within the 8-9 am time frame I was given, but since I was being charged starting at 7:45 am, I'm not really sure why it took them an hour to get to my apartment (Google maps estimates it's a 15 minute drive between their location and that apartment). <br /> <br /> Once there, packing went exceptionally well. They actually packed in less time than estimated, so that was good. Loading time, however, was longer than it should have been. Previous movers from a local company were able to move my stuff in 1.5 hours. The estimate included a little over 2 hours to load, and a little over 2 hours to unload. In reality, the loading/unloading process took over 6 hours, not including the hour or so that their truck was broken down and no moving was happening. <br /> <br /> I think a big part of the loading time issue was that they didn't bring out hand trucks/dollies to help move until the very end of the unload process. They were taking boxes to/from the truck one at a time. They also spent time disassembling furniture that didn't necessarily need to be disassembled, as previous movers were successful in moving it without disassembling it. <br /> <br /> In the end, I probably could've overlooked the extra moving time if the move had been done well, but after all was said and done, I had a full SUV load worth of stuff that was missed by the movers and I had some furniture I had to learn how to assemble by myself because the movers missed it. <br /> <br /> I do appreciate that the company seems to be concerned about customer experiences once the move is complete. I have followed up with representatives from the company who put me in contact with the assistant manager. I am currently waiting to hear back from the assistant manager about this experience. <br /> <br /> BOTTOM LINE: If on time, on budget complete moves are important to you, I'd consider a different company. <br /> <br /> <br /> **UPDATE 01/23/13: I did  receive a refund for 1 of the hours that the movers went over the estimated time. I appreciate the concern that was shown by the people I talked to after the move, but I wish it didn't take 3 complete weeks to come to a resolution of my concerns. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I was very pleased with the transaction. The setup of the auto pickup was easy with call to National Express Auto Transport. I got an email notification from dispatch letting me know when the car would be picked up at the dealership, and I let the dealership know. I then got the direct phone number for the transporter/driver and setup a time to drop off the car on the date promised. It was door to door service, and I felt that the driver took good care of my car. I was very pleased, and would use them again."

"Brad was the third service provider I called. The first never called me, the second called me three days later. Brad returned my call in one hour. I should have just called Brad. <br /> He visited me to provide an estimate and to talk about the job. He was polite, straight forward, and a good guy. We received heavy rain the night before the scheduled work. Brad called me early that morning and communicated that because of the wet conditions it was best to wait one day. He then drove to my house at 6:30 the next morning to assess the situation and then returned with his equipment to do the work. <br /> When I got home I was amazed at how awesome my property looked. Brad left me a voicemail after he completed the work, but I was blown away by how great everything looked. The best part is he completed the work for half of the price of his estimate. The work was so good, complete, and exactly what I asked for that I would have happily paid full price.  <br /> I highly recommend Brad Kirch to anybody looking for high quality excavating and landscaping work. He's responsive, responsible, fair, and skilled. <br /> I wish I could upload a photo of the work so you could see it (hint hint Angie's list). <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Po Waterdu from Waterdu Tree Service LLC provided me a proposal quickly. The price was reasonable and competitive after some negotiation. I liked the guy and he explained to me what he was going to do before he did it. He did the work when he said he would and he cleaned up after himself well. I recommended him to my neighbors as well. "

FAQs for waste, junk, building materials and debris removal and hauling projects in Poynette, WI

To throw out stained, broken, or infested mattresses or couches, call a junk hauler or take it to your local landfill yourself. If it’s infested with pests, you might want to call a pest control specialist near you. If you have infested furniture, there's a good chance you have an infested home, too.

Tipping furniture removal services is not mandatory, but it is a thoughtful way to acknowledge their hard work and professionalism. If you're pleased with the service, consider tipping junk haulers 5% to 10% of the total cost or $10 to $20 per worker. This is especially appreciated when the job involves heavy lifting, navigating stairs, or handling bulky items. Tipping not only rewards the workers for a job well done but also fosters a positive working relationship.

If your furniture is in good condition, you have a few options:

  • Donate to charities: Organizations like Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and GreenDrop often accept furniture donations and may offer free pickup services.

  • List online: You can list your items for free on local online marketplaces or community groups to find someone who needs them. Giving away your furniture not only helps you clear space but also benefits others in your community.

The cost to haul away junk depends on the haul’s size. A single item costs $60 to $150 to haul, with each additional item adding $20 to $40 to the total price. Hauling away a full truckload of trash or other junk will run $400 to $800.

Yes, some furniture retailers will haul away your old furniture when they deliver your new items. This service may be included in your purchase price or offered at a discounted rate. It's important to check with the store to see if they provide furniture removal and whether there are any requirements, such as a minimum purchase. Utilizing this service can save you time and effort in disposing of your old furniture.

In many cases, you can dispose of furniture in a dumpster, but regulations vary by location. Some areas prohibit items like mattresses or upholstered furniture due to environmental concerns. It's best to check with your local waste management authorities or dumpster rental company to understand what's allowed.
