"Excellent job!! It was a pleasure working with E. Stanley Asphalt Paving. Joe did the estimate and was my contact and was there with the crew when the job was done. When Joe left during the paving, after having discussed the plan and what was being done, he introduced me to his father who stayed there until the job was done. Before the repaving the driveway was in bad shape and no work had been done on it for over 35 years but it now looks great! This is a top notch multigenerational family business. I highly recommend them."

"My wife and I couldn't be more pleased with our new asphalt driveway installed by AC Paving Company. The manager Joel was very knowledgeable and professional, and gave us a very fair offer to do the job. On the day the crew showed up to start the work I was completely blown away. They had a Calvary of 3 clean and shiny red trucks and equipment come rolling down my street all ready to start work. I was equally impressed watching the crew work so efficiently and quickly to remove the old asphalt, prepare the area, and install the new asphalt. They were done in less than 3 hours. Truly outstanding workmanship!! We would recommend them "hands down" to anyone looking to have their driveway replaced."

"Spring asphalt work = dodging the rain showers.  With that in mind I thought they were coming on Wednesday but they showed up on Tuesday.  Hey, better early than late right?   They did all prep work, filled the seam between the halves of the driveway and applied a nice thick coat of sealant.  All good! <br /> I went out to check on the job and found sealant splattered all over the stone face of the retaining wall along the driveway!  They kept it wet and tried scrubbing it off - no good.  They ran back to the shop and returned with some type of masonry cleaner and began scrubbing.  About two hours later it was clean as new. <br /> Long story short, it's not about doing a perfect job all the time but about correcting things and making it right when a mistake is made.  They never complained and they stayed and did what was necessary to make things right.  Every speck of seal coat had been cleaned off the wall.  I was concerned that all the water and cleaner on the hour old seal coat would wash it off.  It didn't appear to wash any of it away and I was assured that if it did, they would coat it again the next day. <br /> Steve stopped by the next day and made sure I was happy with the job and inspect the crew's work himself.  The seal coat was great and no reapplication was required. <br /> They did a good job and I would use them again. <br />"

"They were on time and they were prepared. Their contract was very clear and there was no doubt in my mind about what I would be getting. They gave me three contracts to look at for different types of work if I didn't want to spend as much as I did. They were efficient, professional, and it looks great! I've gotten many compliments on the driveway."

"Washington Pavements, LLC appear on the scheduled date, but not until after 1:00 pm. I would have preferred they told me I was the second job that day so I could plan accordingly, as I had to leave prior to finishing the job. The crew members were polite and worked quickly. The owner, Joe, performed the actual laying of the asphalt and his crews prepped and finished the job. The one concern I have is that I was quoted a 3.5" asphalt layer, compacted to 3.0". I observed almost the entire process, and I am sure that a few parts of the driveway do not have that much asphalt-I am now concerned I will be looking at a resurfacing sooner than expected, but that is still years away barring unforeseen issues. They do warranty their work for seven years if you use their sealcoating maintenance, which they recommend you do a few months after the initial job and then every two years thereafter (the seal coat is about twice the cost, but if done every two years is a wash when compared to other sealcoat companies in this area). Their pricing for a replacement driveway was on the lower end, not exactly the cheapest but the warranty exceeded the standard one year warranty offered by four other contractors."

"This is a large (2900 sq feet) drive, and I had the front half, the part visible from the street, stamped and colorized to look like brick. There was a problem in that they found a mud pit under the lowest part of the old drive and had to dig out 4 truckloads of mud and bring in stone.  This cost additional money, which I was not prepared for, but the company and I worked out a professional and workable agreement that allowed the job to complete.  The biggest issue is that the new drive is beautiful and really higher quality that I see in the other neighborhood driveways.  For example, my old drive tapered to very thin asphalt at the edges and this caused cracking.  A truck drove across the drive, slipped onto the lawn, and a three foot section of the old drive just broke off.  The new drive has full depth all the way to the edges, with a chanfered (45 degree angle) edge, that is stronger, and when re-landscaped, will stay good for decades. The final product is the envy of my neighbors and I am very happy with it."

"Lou came and gave us a quote. He was quick to point out the "best/long term" solution for the job. Crew did a good job on installation. There was an issue (cut our power line) but they resolved it quickly. We were happy with the final work and the price."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Prince Frederick, MD

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
