"I contacted N. Chasen and Son to replace our shutters. While working on the quote for the shutters via email, a wind storm tore some trim off our house, so I asked if they could include that as part of the work (as well as replacing some siding and a louver). They sent someone out the next week to check the shutter dimensions and determine what was needed for the trim, siding, and louver. They suggested repainting the louvers instead of replacing, and sent me a quote for all the work and to get it scheduled. On the scheduled date, Marcus was on time and very friendly. He walked me through everything they were going to do and explained that the shutters were on backorder and would be in later in the week, but he replaced the trim and painted one of the louvers (he needed a longer ladder for the second). He had to return a few times to finish the work, but he made sure it was all completed and the quality is fantastic. I'm very pleased with my experience with N. Chasen and Son and will definitely hire again when I have need."

"Excellent!!! Highly recommend. When moving, there's a lot of details to keep track of so I was appreciative of the follow up after my first inquiry about costs. Once booked, communication was top-notch and accommodating as I had already flown to my destination - they allowed for the driver to contact my son to arrange the pickup. After booking for a date in mid-February, I had to make a change to an earlier date. I was impressed that the change order with minimal charge was enabled without a hitch. They estimated time to destination well and I watched the driver unload my car - the guy had hustle which I just never see anymore! Great service. Every aspect was spot on! I'd definitely utilize again."

"I hired Alan to replace a badly deteriorated garage floor and to install a parking pad next to the garage off an alley. When he came to the site to give the estimate he also pointed out some failed mortar joints and significant stair-step cracking along the rear wall. In all, he and his crew repaired multiple sections of old mortar and replaced a rusty lintel; removed the old concrete garage floor; prepared the garage and exterior parking pad, removing dirt and a tree; formed up the new 18x18 garage floor and 20x20 parking pad, with a 4' apron; and poured the new concrete with appropriate finishes. I am absolutely thrilled with the finished product. Alan and his crew were a delight to work with. He clearly communicated changes in plans to work around weather and set expectations on scheduling and how long it would be before the concrete would be ready to be parked on. The site was left clean and neat at the end of each day, and the substantial, unavoidable disruption of the alley was repaired at the end of each day to make it presentable and drivable. No damage was done to my property or neighboring properties. I expected the initial estimate to be significantly higher, yet Alan committed to it, and the only small changes were due to additional work I requested while they were there. I could not be happier with how this project came together, and Alan was a delight to work with. I have several other smaller projects planned over the next few years and hope I'll be able to use him for those, as well!"

He did a great job designing the spaces after talking through what we needed and brought new ideas to the table that we hadn't considered. The install on both closets was quick and professional. "On his first job in my home, he replaced a dryer vent hose, replaced 3 toilet seats, and replaced weather stripping on my garage door. He diagnosed the problem with my bathtub drain and bifold doors falling off their track. I purchased the kit necessary to repair the bathtub drain and new bifolds (since you can only get the hardware by buying new doors).So, on the second job ($88 coupon) he installed the bathtub drain and the track for the new doors. On the third job (no coupon) he removed 2 inches of cabinet above my stove to install my new microwave the recommended 18" height above the stove. Once again, the cost of the job was reasonable. "They arrived a bit later than we had agreed to due to some unforseen issues with the truck. However once they arrived, the crew went to work and did a fantastic job in getting all of our stuff out of the old place and into the new. They even made an extra effort to get our treadmill out of the basement of the town house and into the truck. The move ended up taking abut 8 hours or so, but they worked through some unexpected snow and did a great job. I should note, that I dont remember the exact price that I paid. I used a combination of an Angie's list big deal and then paid extra hours on top of that. The total was around 1000, but might have been a bit lower or higher. <br />"
