"They were responsive and professional. It was a 30 year old water heater. They replaced only what needed replaced and brought it up to code when they put in the new one. My son's schedule is very busy between work and college. They worked with me while I was still in Texas to set up a time that would work while I was going to be in town for a few days visiting him. They were reasonably priced. Would definitely use them again."

"Called three different leak detection services after digging up half the yard, totally exhausted. This was the only one that even responded. Mike was super nice on the phone and kept us informed when he would be there. He found the leak UNDER THE ASPHALT DRIVEWAY, after about 45 minutes. We never would have found it if not for him. A LIFESAVER!"

"Allied Plumbing (formerly O'neil Plumbing in Moses Lake area) is one of the best plumbing services my company has ever used. Allied was able to schedule a job on short notice, showed up on time, did a thorough job and charged a fair price. What else can you ask for from a plumbing company! Well, how about a follow up call from the owner/manager, Ron Smiley, insuring the job was done to satisfaction and then going on to explain a whole host of extraordinary plumbing services that I was not aware of. Like being to do lateral sewer connections, including trenchless sewer line repairs, anything to do with water pumps, and commercial plumbing services. Ron is a smart business man that understands the value of long term relationships."

"All in home systems checked and serviced as needed. Lub, oil, filter etc. so to speak. Mike’s field service crew are first rate. I have had them replace motors, check outside A/C equipment etc. All well done for good price. Also plumbing work (drain line); replace a section of water service line etc. All around home mechanical service."

"It went very well. I was and am very pleased. These men are honest, courteous, professional and efficient. I recommend them to anyone needing plumbing done. They were careful while doing the work, to not track mud into my house (even though the main crawl space they had to work in had the entry inside the house ~ under my laundry room), and to put the lawn back like they found it as much as possible (they had to dig a trench to lay the new pipe to the meter). <br />"

"To be fair, this was a difficult problem. Juan tried to clear the line using a standard plumber's snake. It helped a little bit, but didn't really solve the problem. After calling in two other plumbing outfits, we figured out that the problem was a saturated drainfield, which is beyond the capability of Juan's equipment and experience. Juan is young, enthusiastic, hard working, and easy to work with. Because he is young, his experience is more limited than some of the older firms in the area. On another job that Juan did for us earlier this year, I was completely satisfied and so I would still reccommend him for any but the most complex projects. Give him a couple more years and he will be as good as any."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Pullman, WA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
