"itâ s such a pleasure to work with someone experienced, professional, honest and personable! Bill replaced 3 steps from kitchen to terrace with a completely different order of work than the rotting, below code, dangerous steps I had. Requested photos, checked the steps himself, gave me a reasonable quote, had the work done with no further involvement from me and then checked the job afterwards. The experience was so good I asked if he had painters - yes - who I then hired to re-paint my bathroom and porch after a botched job by someone else. I wish he could rebuild my whole house!"

"Scenic Walkways did an awesome job. Chris is very professional and his workers are the best.
They are very neat and clean. Their work is beautiful. We get more complements from people just taking a walk down
the street. Chris did our back patio about two years ago and we were so pleased with the job, we decided to do the
front porch. I would recommend Scenic walkways to everyone."

"G&B recently completed a driveway, sidewalks and patio with fire pit for us and it turned out beautifully. George offered several helpful suggestions for choosing the right color and stamping pattern to really tie the project in with the house. These extra details are why we chose G&B above the others. The crew was prompt on completing the projects as well as courteous and mindful of our neighbors during the job. Highly, highly recommend for any concrete needs."

"Excellent work always does a great job at a fair cost. After years not one paver has moved or settled. The base of our patio was done very well much thicker then others I have seen. It's all about the base and prep work to create a long lasting beutiful project."

"This guy. Hire this guy.
Had a sewer lateral replaced and in the process lost a slab of concrete at the curb and one in a walkway from the driveway to the front steps. The sidewalk to the front steps was in rough shape to begin with, so I asked Phil to fix the slab at the curb and the entire walkway from driveway to front steps.
He came out a couple of times to look at the job -- gave me a price -- price was competitive to what I had been quoted earlier. The thing about Phil was that he didn't just want to do the job --he wanted to do it RIGHT.
Came out and prepped the area.
Weather interfered and it was a while before he could do the the pour. Communication was great. Phil calls me last week and tells me he can *probably* get the pour in and it will be fine, but if there's rain he might have to tear the whole thing out and do it over. My call. Doesn't want to inconvenience me further with torn up sidewalks.
Any other contractor would have poured it and told me the rain was "no problem".
Sidewalk it done, it looks wonderful, and while I don't have the money right now I have more concrete work I need done in the future. All of those jobs automatically belong to Phil. There was a corner of my front steps that I had done a repair on years ago. It came loose while he was doing the demo. He fixed it, no charge, looks 100x better than anything I would have done.
Stop reading, call this guy, don't waste your time with anyone else."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Quakertown, PA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
