"I have used this company before and posted a well deserved "A" review of that experience. Had them back this year to remove another large tree and the experience was not quite as stellar. The care given to the surrounding landscape was lacking this time and there was a surprising amount of damage uncovered when I went to inspect closely after they left. I had told the 2 guys who arrived early in the morning where to stack the big chunks of trunk wood, which was behind the tree on a flat spaces of dirt, the same spot they dumped it all last year. Due to problems with the truck, the rest of the crew didn't arrive until 4 hours later. No body's fault on the late start, but I think in their anxiousness to get going, communication from crew 1 didn't get passed onto the climber/chain saw guy. I got my first red flag when I looked out the window and he was halfway done with the big trunk. As he cut the 12-14" sections, he did a big "heave ho" of the chunk forward on the downward side the big hill in front of him (instead of the other way where the ground was flat). I was very surprised to see all these massive trunk rounds fallen and piled on top of our pathway with paver steps. Later I found two massive rounds had rolled for distance all the way down to the bottom of the hill taking out a landscape light, some rocks our retaining wall, and then broke off paver bricks on 4 steps of a full flight of hardscape stairs at the bottom. This is about 75+ feet away from the tree being removed uphill. Unacceptable."

"Our neighbors have trimmed the trees in their yard for the last 20 years (we've only been living here for 5), and they have had a multitude of different companies come out. This year, we decided to take the initiative and pay for the trimming. We contacted Portland Tree Care because of our work with their sister company (Hillside Landscaping), and they provided a quote that was very favorable. Our neighbors said to go ahead with the job, and when Brian got here, we described what we wanted them to do. In addition, our neighbors had a few additional branches on other trees that they wanted thinned.

Brian and his crew got to work and did a great job blending the cut branches with the ones that were left behind. This is a much bigger deal for our neighbors than for us, because they look down on the tops of these trees when they are cut. After the job was done, our neighbors said that this was the best job that they have had and were planning on calling them again for future work.

I'd say that this was a success, as everyone was happy with the work that was done."

"Purchased a sprinkler tune up and back flow test with
certification. Paul is a busy guy so it took him a day to get back to me which I
think is very reasonable.  We scheduled
the appointment. He was very punctual. I explained that I had just purchased
the house so he explained how to winterize the system at the end of the season
and how to program the timer at no additional cost. During the inspection, he
found three sprinkler heads that needed to be replaced so he replaced those at
the same time. Total additional cost for the heads installed and adjusted?. $8.97.

"This is the 3rd time I have used this company. Mariano works very hard to make sure his customers are happy. He knows a lot about plants and gardening and his prices are good. His English is limited so if you are Spanish speaking it is helpful in dealing with this contractor. We occasionally have an issue on the timing of when the workers will come to work on the property, but they do eventually show up. We also had a slight problem this time when a worker broke a sprinkler pipe but Mariano made sure he came back to fix it within a weeks time. He has now hired an English speaking secretary to answer the phone calls and this has been very helpful. In summary, for yard work and clean up, this is a good company and they will get the job done at a good price."
