"I used them for a "small" job, just 11 sq. ft. countertop for a custom vanity bathroom cabinet. It took just over 2 weeks to get it installed. However, their craftsmanship is superb, and the installation went very quickly. Their selection of remnants were far superior to other companies, and I was able to get a good price by using a piece I found in their back lot."

"Jose was friendly, responsive and personable. His experience allows him to easily give solid advice. He recommended a few countertop vendors to find the quartz we chose. We paid for the material separately. JM Tile and Stone took care of picking up the slabs, cutting/gluing/polishing. H Cabinets was our vendor and sold us two quartz slabs, unfortunately one with sun damage that Jose buffed to help equalize the color. I’d advise the purchaser to pick/inspect/approve the slabs before finalizing pickup. Preapproval would alleviate the problem we ran into. Overall the process took a week from start to finish and the kitchen looks beautiful."

"Marco impressed me with his professionalism and ability to do the entire job, not just the granite. Jose arrived on time and worked very **** ** the demo the first day, leaving the room very clean, the outlet moved, and replacing the furniture. After 3 days of work in the shop, Jose and Marco installed the granite and mantel exactly as requested. They went above and beyond by painting the wall to cover the drywall work, painting the inside of the fireplace black. Our new fireplace is beautiful! The leftover granite was used to make an outdoor tabletop with dropped edges, perfect to cover our old metal fire pit as an outdoor coffee table."

"I agree completely with the posted reviews. We checked around and most of the other installers had a minimum of $5,000 to $10,000. Juan came out and gave us a very fair bid of under $2,000. He matched our exact granite when he replaced our cracked counter. He showed up when scheduled and completed the job from start to finish in just a few hours. I couldn't give a higher recommendation to Juan or his company. If I ever have another granite or stone installed, Juan would be the first person I would call."

"Thomas was the right person for this work. Excellent knowledge of the right repair and plastering techniques. Protected the area outside the bathroom from any dust or contamination. Very polite and personable. My dog also liked him. Cleaned up the area afterwards. Finished wall blends in perfectly with surrounding wall. Pricing very reasonable. Couldn't be happier!"

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Rancho-bernardo, CA

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
