"This is my third time working with Larry and every experience has been very positive.  He's easy to work with, his prices are great and he shows up when he says he will.  This time, it was a new wall oven.  We had a small challenge securing a time for the work, but it all worked out and I'm super happy with my oven and the installation.   I would definitely recommend and use Larry again for any appliance problems!

"I spent a lot of time researching the contractor, equipment and type of system I wanted installed in my home. I had several on site quotes and spoke with many people. Out of all the contractors I considered, Juan w/JCL & Sons was by far the most professional, courteous and easy to talk to out of them all. Juan was the only person that came to my home and spent his time assessing the job, reviewing how the homes structure would impact the installation. Actually, Juan was the only person to do more than just look in the attic, he actually got a flash light in climbed inside. One more thing I like about the install, Juan was the only contractor that DID NOT carry a stupid three ring binder while trying to show me all of his companies certificates and pictures of past jobs. It seems like everyone I talked to just wanted to tell me how great they were and how many guarantees they have. HD....they were the worst!
I initially received a quote from Juan in October...I finally decided to go with him a few months later in December (like I said, I was patient and did a lot of research). We went back and forth discussing what type of system (efficiency wise) would be best for me based on price and energy savings. As extras, I added the electronically controlled damper system allowing my HVAC system to operate as a dual zone system, touch screen thermostats, whole house air cleaner and relocated the system from a first floor closet to the attic.
I would still like to add a whole house humidifier as it does get a little stuffy on the second floor with the heat on.
In closing, Juan called me back when I called him, he answered all of my questions, he provided written quotes (with addendums when changes needed to be made), he showed up when he was supposed to, installed the system right the first time without making a mess, tested it to my satisfaction and lastly cleaned up when he left.
All and all I have nothing to complain about.  When I hear co-workers mention HVAC work I speak right up to mention Juan's name. He's gained a customer for life...

"I hired Yari based on positive Angie's List reviews.  Overall, I'd give him a luke warm rating, and MIGHT use him again, though would probably investigate some other options first.  The work done overall was good, however...

The clean-up was poor.  There was a LOT of small broken tile bits and dust left over after they replaced the kitchen tiles.  I have cats (as they saw), and they could have very easily tracked sharp small bits of broken tile on their paws from the loads of it left on the kitchen floor and in the grooves where the grout is.  When they repaired the broken stucco outside, they left dust and debris at the site and obviously threw the remaining water/plaster/mortar/whatever mix through a fence and into my neighbor's yard (am going to try and attach pix - I think I can do that here).  The price he quoted me was for parts and labor ASSUMING I had all those parts already.  I had to go myself with one of his workers to a nearby plumbing supply store to pick up needed items.

He was very responsive in person and by phone, and very cordial and prompt.  The work was decent enough.  I don't know enough about home repairs and contracting to know how fair the price was, but it seemed to be in the ballpark.

Overall recommendation : Proceed, but with caution, and make sure you're clear from the outset what exactly your needs are and what exactly he's promising to provide.  And make sure they clean up properly before leaving."

"service provider sent by American Home Shield was excellent. The only issue I have with home warranty services is that they do not send their repair companies out on the week-end, even in an emergency. The customer service personnel is less than enthusiastic or helpful."

FAQs for appliance (smaller size) installation and replacement projects in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

Garbage disposals last around 10 years when properly maintained. If your unit is getting close to that age or repair costs are increasing, it might be time to consider a replacement. Regular maintenance and careful use can help maximize your garbage disposal's performance and help it reach its maximum lifespan.

There are several signs to watch for that indicate your garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Replacement may be necessary if it doesn't work even though it's properly connected, the blades are worn and causing delays in operation, a persistent foul odor that won't go away, or leaks coming from the bottom due to a compromised seal. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to consider getting a new garbage disposal to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

A plumber or handyperson can install your garbage disposal if the electrical connections are already in place. If you need additional electrical work, you'll also need to hire a qualified electrician to handle the rest of the job. Hiring local professionals ensures the installation is safe and up to code.

It’s important to avoid putting certain items down the drain to keep your garbage disposal running smoothly and avoid clogs. Expandable foods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, and bread can swell and cause blockages. Coffee grounds, grease, fats, and oils can accumulate and create clogs. Hard items such as meat bones, nuts, and fruit pits can damage the disposal blades. Eggshells, potato peels, and fibrous vegetables such as celery, pumpkin, corn husks, artichokes, onion skins, and asparagus can wrap around the blades or obstruct the pipes.

Not every sink is suitable for the installation of a garbage disposal. The compatibility of the sink with the disposal depends on the material and structural integrity. While many standard sinks support these units, fireclay sinks are prone to cracking under the added stress and should not be used. Confirm that your sink can securely accommodate the disposal before installation.

Choosing the correct size garbage disposal depends on your household size and how much waste you produce. A 1/3–1/2 horsepower unit should be sufficient for households with one to two people. If your household consists of three to six people, a 1/2–3/4 horsepower unit is recommended. FA3/4–1 horsepower model will be necessary. For larger households of five to eight people
