"Right from the start everything went like "clockwork". Communications and scheduling were timely and accurate. Marsha kept us informed every step of the way. The estimate for the job was fair and reasonable and we signed on and scheduled the job. Showing up on time, communicating necessary information such as delivery of supplies and job scheduling are important. They followed through perfectly. The job was done in one day, the crew was professional, experienced and very clean. We are delighted with our new patio and we do not hesitate to recommend Exotic Pavers to anyone. So, do yourself a big favor, call them for an estimate...you'll be very glad you did!!"

"Absolutely beyond our expectations.  The guys were very professional, very thorough and did an outstanding job.  The office looks brand new!  We got quotes from other competitors and they were 'over-kill' - recommending the only way to get the scuffs off was to grind down the floors and restain.  That was totally unnecessary.  Our floors look brand new.  Thank you Nobel Concrete!  We will refer you everywhere. <br />"

"We can't thank Matt Clark enough for the attention to detail and fine craftsmanship. He never cut corners and always worked as if he were remodeling his own home. The finish work is so fantastic I can't stop looking at it. Communication is excellent and very responsive via email or phone. The crew is extremely good natured, cheerful and respectful of the home they're working on (which is not my previous experience with construction crews). The work was completed as promised, even though they had to work late to accomplish it. My flooring was a little tougher to install than most, which meant longer hours. But they never complained. Matt is willing to answer questions and share information without reservation. Set up and clean up were easy. I really loved that we never had to ask to have things done to our specifications because the work always exceeded our expectations. <br /> There is no question that we will ask Clark's Construction back for all of our future remodeling projects! <br />"

"John did a great job on our stairway which leads to our deck. This was a challenging job because the stairs tie in with the side of our house and a retaining wall. He had to contend with the erosion of the dune under the stairs. The wood for the stairs came in a light and a darker run. He made sure that the color of the wood was consistently placed on each stair. They look perfect! This is the second time John has done work for us. Very happy with his work."

"This is a follow up review of a previous one that I posted on Ayers Basement for concrete work done on our entry way. The repair job was unacceptable and we reported it as such. We received a letter and a call from Ayers after we posted our review and sent them a letter with pictures and outlining our displeasure. Although it took a little while for them to respond they did. A refund for the cost of cement stain was sent along with a gift certificate. In addition Scott came out and looked at the job agreeing that it looked bad. He offered to fix the problem. The original work was done on 6/28/2016. On 11/9/2016 Ayers came out, cut out the cracked slab and re poured a new slab. They did an excellent job and did not charge for the repair. Their response and responsibility were exceptional and we were very impressed and happy. They stood behind their work and I cannot complain. With that type of honesty and response I would definitely recommend them and use the again if needed."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Ravenna, MI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
