"We received a quote that was very fair and decided to go with them, based on conversations with the owner, who arrived at our residence shortly after we requested a quote. The crew arrived the next day and did a great job of trimming our junipers and two ornamental trees. They cleaned up all the debris from shrubs and trees, and left the property spotless. We are most likely going to have several trees taken down within the next month or two, and we will again contact this company to give us another quote for this work. I called Apex Tree Service to examine a large Sweet Gum tree in our back yard. The tree has lost some limbs over time and we were concerned that it might need to be removed. Mr. Lay was here within the time frame he said he would be. He was very nice, very professional and took the time to explain the condition of the tree. He made suggestions of what we could do to help the tree. He stated that the tree did not need to be removed at this time. He also said that all trees will lose a limb once in a while. He told us (at our request) what it would cost to remove the tree if it were necessary at present. I was very appreciative that someone did not just come out and say that the tree should be removed. I will definitely call them again when needed.

They were punctual and professional, did the job thoroughly and even added complimentary services (free gutter cleaning and removal of branches of trees growing over the roof that would allow squirrels access). They even include a transferrable warranty so if you sell your home, the warranty will cover the buyers for the remaining time on the warranty. "Extremely well. The work was done shortly (4 days) after the bid. Ricky and his crew came on time, and over 4 hours did an excellent job. They had to deal in particular with a tricky situation, cutting down and removing a tree that was tilting on the water surface of a lake, in a very tight spot. They did this by carrying by hand the cut tree sections piecemeal to the street -on an uphill slope - and, very commendably, not leaving any debris behind on the lake surface! Everybody was cheerful and courteous, and Ricky explained everything that was being done."

I sent out quotes to 4 Angie's List company's.  Heard from all 4, but Allen Jennings with AJ Tree service was the first to call me back. After I receive all 4 quotes, AJ's quote was far better than the others.  The least difference was $300, the most was $1,000.  A couple of companies said it would be a "2-day job" because the trees were so large and located in the back yard.  I call AJ Thursday a.m. to tell him he had the job and to schedule a date.  When he call back and said he had a cancellation that afternoon and could start it the same day I called.  His crew arrived at 2:30 and promptly begin to work.  I can't say enough about how efficient and careful his crew was, taking great care to not damage the yard and cleaning up as they went.  Well, 4.5 hours later, this "2-day job" was TOTALLY complete!!!  Trees down, yard totally raked, saw dust blown out of the grass, logs removed and everything looking great.  I wondered why everyone who had used AJ Trees Service had rated them an A, now I know.  The only reason I give them an A is because there isn't a A+ plus rating.
