"Vogel's replaced the carpet on the upper floor of our house. The showroom experience was seem less and we had a lot of options to choose from. The sales person was super helpful and knowledgeable. Once we chose our carpet they set a date for the tear out and install. The tear out and install happened right on schedule and they did a perfect job with minimal disruption to the rest of the home. I highly recommend Vogel's!"

"Once again we called Revive Carpet and Upholstery Cleaners. They've rescued our carpeting from several exciting and active visits from out-of-town grandchildren over the years and restored it after a remodeling fiasco. They're a family business so we can't ever surprise them with a carpet catastrophe that they haven't encountered before or experienced themselves."

"It was easy to make appointment They came on time A pleasant gentleman. Quiet and quick work The carpet was hardly wet when he finished (does that mean a good job?) There were no huge stains to work on. The stairway was left with dark edges. I called the company to come back and they cleaned the stairs again. These dark edges are typical for older carpets and can't be removed"

"I had hired John several years ago to patch a small area of carpet that had been scorched by a dropped iron and later to repair an area in a berber carpet that my cat had unraveled.  Both times he did an excellent job at a reasonable price, so when I needed to have my living room carpet patched due to the removal of a hearth and the installation of a wall unit, I naturally called him.  I left a phone message on Saturday and he got back to me on Tuesday.  After listening to what I needed to have done, he offered to come over that afternoon to do it, another job having unexpectedly canceled.  He came, worked steadily for about three hours, and left me with a surprisingly unobtrusive carpet patch.  If you just need a small repair or installation job, you can't do better than John's Carpet Repair.  The price is right, and the quality of work is excellent."

"The carpets look great for 10 year old carpets.  The technician arrived on time.  Surveyed what needed to be done and then gave me an estimate of the cost.  I agreed and he went to work.  He had to move some of the furniture himself.  He pretreated and worked with the oriental rugs first.  I was nervous about that but he explained the process to me and answered all my questions.  Then he cleaned the carpets and used a different spray after the cleaning.  Then he cleaned the rest of the walkway carpets.  Some spots --he was unable to remove (from a past kitty) but he told me about them when he started.  I appreciated his honesty.  The entire process took about 3.5 hours.  What was amazing to me was how quickly the carpets dried.  I was so relieved about that because my carpet was dry after about 3 hours and I could  gently walk about right away.  This was very painless to me and I didn't have to worry at all. <br />"

"Carpet To Go handled our carpet selection and installation, through the Costco program. We were extremely pleased with the entire process, from selecting the carpet, to the fast scheduling, and excellent installation which was completed in less than 2 days. The price was very competitive, and the installers were professional, clean and courteous. We would not hesitate to recommend Carpet To Go."

"Pure Clean did a fine job. They were professional, on time, and informative, letting us know what to expect. They told us our options, but did not try to upsell knowing our carpeting was brand new. My only complaint is that they did not remove several spots of latex paint. This surprised me."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Renton, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
