"Exceptional company and the only plumbing service I want to hire. I have hired Castleman for a sewer clean out, a leaking toilet, frozen cold water plumbing and most recently sump pump issues. Justin is impressive & his team of Nate and Ricky are solid strong. I am impressed with Justin as when he comes to take care of your issue, he also does extensive teaching about the issue. When I had a problem during an excessive cold snap where my cold water wasn't working, he answered the phone on a Sunday morning and took the time to talk me through what to do. His instruction carried me through to good in very short time. Phone or text, Justin is available. He is knowledgeable, wonderfully talented, exceptionally skilled, curious about whatever your issue is and someone you want by your side when things go wrong. Castleman and Sons Plumbing Inc A +++"

"First trip out they told me my old faucet was not repairable (it was leaking). They told me a new faucet would be $325.00 or so. I told them I would buy my own and have them install. Plumber did a good job and was in and out in no time. Bill was $318.00 for 2hrs labor and $44.00 for materials for a total with tax $381.91 which I thought was high. I supplied the materials and $159.00 per hr. seemed high. But I was satisfied with the job."

"This is the second time that we used Milestone Plumbing Inc. Alex did both jobs. In the most recent job, Alex put in a new kitchen faucet; a toilet flushing mechanism was changed. Alex is the consummate professional plumber. I highly recommend Alex and Milestone for your plumbing needs."

"Because of the work that John and Exact Exterior & Interior Remodeling has done for us in the past, when my parents needed their siding, garage door and gutters replaced we gave John a call. My 90 year old parents could not be more happy with the work that was done and how clean and efficient the crew was when working. At the end of the day they always made sure that materials were cleaned up. My parents have gotten compliments from all the neighbors on how good the house looks. We would not hesitate to recommend or use Exact Exterior & Interior Remodeling for any future projects that need to be done."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Richfield, WI

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
