"I have use Nick LaFlamme on two occasions to install carpet. He saved me over $200.00 the first time and over $500.00 on the recent carpet installation at my home. Nick's integrity, professionalism, and high standards in my opinion makes him one of the top installers for carpet, tile and flooring. Nick will be the first person I call when I need any type of flooring, tile or carpet installed."

"Punctual, and professional technicians. My carpets had not been cleaned in awhile. Was very impressed with the difference— before and after. Also liked that the carpets dried so much more quickly, with this method. Exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"All was going great until they didn't order the windows on time. I had a deadline for a huge gathering at my home and I was assured it would be met. After not hearing from them about an install date after all the measuring was complete I called and the install department let it slip that they didn't get ordered on time. She said it was probably an error in the computer and she would find out and call me back. She never did. I finally got a call about an install date from the contractor and it was a week after our gathering. I called the install department again to let them know I was upset and was told I would get a discount after the install. The guy there said he would call and see if they could move the appointment up. He never called back. When the windows were delivered I had no idea they were on the way, they called 20 minutes before delivery. I was home so that was ok. They REALLY need to work on following up and COMMUNICATION."

"With our first visit to this business we meet Heidi Leliefeld the Sales Manager. She was able to guide us to a product that would work  for us and what we were looking for in style and color. She answered all of our questions and concerns and gave us samples to take home and see what would look good in our 9 year old home. We set up a date for her to come out and measure our entire down stairs of our home and give her input on what would look good with our existing cabinets/counter tops/etc. She used to be an interior decorator in the past and has a good eye on what works. After getting all the measurements and us deciding on what we wanted she submitted a proposal. It felt a little high at first but after looking at other floor companies they were in the same ball park as others. We accepted there bid and put half down to lock in our install dates and get our order in.  <br>We spent the next two weeks moving everything out of main floor of our home (2 Story) into our garage so the installers had a clear and clean area to work. They showed up Monday Morning at 8 AM sharp on the date we agreed on. Tom the main installer came in explained how they were going to demo (remove) our old tile, Carpet, and vinyl sheet flooring. How they were going to do the work and a guess at when they would finish. Based on the bid determines what work they will and will not do (Example: Moving appliances, R&R the toilets, Dust protection, It was all up to us and what we wanted to pay) We had them do 90% of it in our home.  The rest and easy stuff we did our self's. Tom is not a big talker so he finished what he had to say and him and his helper started at it. Everyday at the end of the job i asked Tom to give my wife or I an update which he gladly did. Love the communication we got with Carpet one. It took them 5 days to install our new hard wood floors which is just under a 1000 Sq Ft.. When Friday came Tom explained they got everything done except the trim molding they needed to still do and needed to replace two lick plates they scuffed on our lower cabinets. Tom contacted Heidi and ordered what they needed and said they would be back out as soon the product arrived. They came back 2 weeks to the day and installed the rest of the trim and kick board. We are very happy with this business and our new floors. KUDO'S Carpet One. We will be back because its a one stop shop. There installers work for them not a separate contractor. Which is very important to us. Next project is kitchen counter tops/back splash/sink so look out Heidi we are coming back soon. So from beginning of the project from meeting Heidi the sales manager to the installers leaving took about 5+ weeks in total.. If I was to have any complaints which we really don't it would be the final detail touches at the very-very end of the job. I.E. caulking, reminding them about some handles to be installed in our closet floor crawl space.. I In the big scheme of it all that was nothing to be honest.  <br>A+++ for this company....."

"I saw this crew painting a house at the end of the block and asked if they would give me an estimate. Mirsad was there in two hours and gave a very reasonable estimate and told me how they were going to do it. Replace some siding, caulk around the windows, pressure wash and sand. Within a week all was done. He would call the night before to let us know his schedule. Very fast and an extremely nice job. No messes left behind. While he was in the house, he noticed that our baseboards were missing from some remodeling work we had done. He got those and installed them for no charge. Then we asked him about the floor tiles that were coming up and he gave us a bid and did the job over the weekend. While here he replaced some shingles that had blown off and then we asked him to paint the fence as the house made it look pretty bad. This spring he will be back to put a new roof on the house. Good price, very fast, on time and an excellent job. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Richland, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
