"It went great. The service man from D & I was prompt, polite and got right to work. He cleaned out the old was seal which had to be removed then created and installed a larger, higher seal to compensate for the raised floor tile. It now works perfectly...no more leaks. He also made sure everything was clean before leaving. This was completed in a little more than an hour."

"Mr. Hederstedt showed up on the agreed date. When some of our planning was awry--the laminate would have made our floor taller so that our refrigerator wouldn't fit in its place--Mr. Hederstedt came up with a solution that worked beautifully. He worked steadily and went into the evenings to get our job done. We so appreciated his thoroughness, promptness, and hard work. Everything looks great. We couldn't be more pleased with the job we received from Mr. Hederstedt. We will be calling him any time we need new flooring."

"They did an excellent job.  We were having our basement finished, and initially selected carpet from a local flooring store.  When we found a nearly identical carpet (same pattern, color, weight and quality) at Menards at a much lower price, we decided to buy the carpet there instead. But unlike the flooring stores, Menards does not offer installation.  We consulted Angie's List to find a carpet installation firm, and selected All Types Floor Covering based on their reviews.  When we first contacted Jason, the carpet sale at Menards was about to end, and he rearranged his personal schedule to come out and take measurements, so we could order the carpet before the sale ended, saving us a couple hundred dollars.  We set our date for installation that day.  On the scheduled day, Jason came on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and completed the work on time.  He was very pleasant and professional to work with.  The quality of his workmanship was excellent.  The original carpet in our home was installed during construction by the local flooring store, and his work was vastly superior to theirs.  I would recommend Jason to anyone, and when we replace carpet in other parts of our home, we will certainly hire Jason to do the work. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Riley, KS

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
