"I had Colgate come out to change the keys on my new home and repair two old door locks. The repairman explained to me that I had a specialized key set and he could only replace the whole lock. The estimate was over $300. I chose not to replace the keys. On the old doors, though, he worked on both replacing a spring in one and the locking mechanism in the other. He was very knowledgeable about the service. However, two days later, the doorknob fell off the front door and the other door would not lock. I called again to see about getting these repaired. Another party answered and I explained the situation. I could hear the repairman complaining about me asking them to be fixed in the background. He got on the phone and started to defensively tell me that "he TOLD me those locks were hard to fix and that he did the best he could". I responded that, regardless, I paid for two doors to be fixed which were now not working in less than a week. He griped some more but agreed to come out again. He sent another repairmen out to work on them who was a very nice guy. His demeanor was much more pleasant. He got them both fixed. But the overall experience made me feel bad. I didn't like his defensiveness and aggressive nature on the phone when I had just paid $156 to have two doors fixed. It left me feeling uneasy."

"I contacted Katie prior to moving to Lexington from out-of-state for assistance in some pre-moving chores.  I was facing an eight hour drive with two very unhappy cats and needed to have their litter boxes, food and water ready for them at our new home the minute they got out of the car.  I came to Lexington to look for an apartment a few weeks ahead of the move with all of their goodies (and some essentials for me as well.)   Katie met me at my hotel and loaded all of our stuff into her car and even took me to Petsmart to buy a cat tree.  She kept our things in her garage until the day prior to the move.  Although Katie herself was unavailable that day, she arranged to have an assistant deliver the items to our new home.  When I - and two utterably miserable cats - arrived the next evening, not only had the stuff been delivered, but I found the litter boxes set up, the shower curtain hung, my coffee pot plugged in (Oh, thank you for that!), and food in the cupboard.  By bedtime, both cats were right at home.  Katie's services made the move so much easier for me.  She is also loads of fun and a font of knowledge about Lexington, which was very helpful to a new resident.  I'll not hesitate to call upon Katie again when the need arises.  <br />"
