"We have worked with Brian twice for new flooring in our home.  Last year we had tile taken out and replaced with hardwood flooring in part of our home.  Recently we had wall-to-wall carpeting installed in the rest of the house.  We are very pleased with both the carpeting and the installation.  Brian was patient, knowledgeable, and responsive as we chose the carpets.  Josh and the crew who installed the carpeting were polite, professional, and did an outstanding job. <br /> <br /> I would recommend Brian (Beaver Hardwood Flooring) to friends and family if they are looking for hardwood floors or quality carpeting."

"Great people to work with. Very professional. Large selection and willing to obtain other samples for viewing. We are curious and picky and they were very patient and helpful answering our many questions. The installers were clean, organized and didn't mind our questions either. They installed flooring in 5 rooms and we are very happy. We are going back to them for new carpet too. Try them we are sure you will like them. Happy wife, happy life. cheers"

"We had wallpaer and popcorn removed by another company last week.  They did a good job and covered everything, but it seemed like dust and popcorn pieces got into our carpet.  The air quality was bad. <br /> I called Scott's Upholstery & Carpet Care late in the afternoon of 6/10/14.  I explained what the problem was, and we scheduled an appointment for the following day at 4pm.  He made this appointment, even though it meant he would have to  reschedule a meeting..  He did this because it was a health issue.  After hanging up the phone with him, I spoke with my husband and we thought we could make the appointment for the next morning.  I called Scott back, and he scheduled us for 0800 on 6/11/14. <br /> He and his son arrived here on time.  They were very nice, professional, and did a great job.  He gave us a discount on the cleaning, I think partly because we are Angie's list members, but also, much of our furniture was already out of the rooms, so that made it a little easier. <br /> When we are finished with all the work we plan to do on the house, I will call Scott's Upholstery & Carpet Care, to clean our big recliner. <br /> We were very impressed and grateful that they came out so quickly, and did such a good job! <br />"

"It went perfectly. The professionalism and quality of the installation was flawless -- including some rather intricate carpet-cutting and stretching around a protruding hearth with multiple angles, whose edges they matched perfectly. Their staff went the extra mile -- far above and beyond -- to assign a special installer to cut an inch off the bottom of all our closet doors to fit the thicker carpet.....even though it was a lot of extra trouble for the company. The installation of both the carpet and the vinyl could not possibly have been any more professional than it was. We will definitely hire them for all our future carpeting and flooring needs. We plan to use them to carpet all our bedrooms in the future."

"This company was recommended to me by my interior decorator and I'm glad I used them to install my beautiful hardwood floors! I worked with Dustin Ogden and he was professional, responsive to my numerous questions and concerns, and offered a good price for the job. The engineered hardwood I chose for my home remodeling was high end, and I could not locate anyone nearby who had installed the product to see how it looked before I made the commitment. Dustin was nice enough to order a full box of the wood so I could lay it out in my living room. When it came time to install the floors, the crew of three installers was skilled, courteous, fast and cleaned up each day to my satisfaction. They had my floors installed in two days and only had to make one trip back to finish up on some trim pieces. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to friends and family."

"These are very helpful and very nice people. Even the bookkeeper lady I spoke to on the phone was fun and on-the-ball. We wandered into the warehouse on the advice of a friend, who said we could get crazy deals on remnants. It's true - they've got remnants like you wouldn't believe at great prices. But it turned out we needed more carpet than even their remnants could cover. <br /> So we explored the new carpet rolls with Scott, who was happy to cut off a bunch of samples for us to take home and compare with the colors in our house. We made a decision and were able to place the order over the phone - no need to drive back to the warehouse. The beauty part is they maintain a box of business cards from installers. They work with these installers all the time, and can tell you who does the best work and even who charges what. They gave us a card from Carter Unruh (916.439.3301) and we had him give us an estimate. He was so obviously capable (has a brain, can form complete sentences, answered every question we had and some we hadn't thought of) we didn't even bother getting other bids. It turned out fantastically - having your house carpeted can be a major pain in the rear, but we got a great deal and great service. Thanks Wood Bros. and Carter! <br />"

"Very smoothly.  Better than I had expected.  He followed up with us after install and also when we needed to have the installer come out afterwards to repair a damaged floor board. He always responds promptly and courteously. Great guy! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Rio-oso, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
