"This year my wife and I decided we could not wait any longer to completely remodel our kitchen and guest bathroom. A few years ago, we contracted Kirk Development to demolition a carport and backyard shed in a home we were selling for my wife’s mother. Although a demo is not a remodel, Nathan Mess, Kirk’s Designer/Estimator, impressed us so much it was a no brainer to call him to come look at what we needed for the remodel at our residence. We explained what we thought wanted to do during Nathan’s initial visit to our mid-century home with the same era kitchen and guest bathroom. Nathan listened attentively during my long monologue. As we walked the two areas, Nathan asked us many questions focusing upon what we did not like about the current mid-sixties kitchen and guest bathroom. We then sat at the dining room table, which is when Nathan started to offer his advice, share his experience and expertise. He offered us many options that we did not come close to considering or imagining. We went round table multiple times with different ways to approach the remodel project. He also offered advice where we could spend a little more money to get a better result and surprisingly offered suggestions that would save us money on the project. In the end, we ended up with a much better plan and hit the go button. Nathan made an appointment to come to our home a few weeks before the project was to begin and brought Curt Armstrong, their Production Manager, and John Hughes, their Field Superintendent to go over the project end to end to make sure we were all on the same page. During this second visit, Nathan, Curt, and John gave us a sense of confidence and comfort that the project would be completed exactly as we wanted. They also assured us it would not be an issue should we decide to change anything at any stage of the project. The project begins. The project Superintendent, John was onsite with the beginning of the demolition of the old kitchen and bath. Although we stayed in our home during the whole project, we were impressed with how well John and his crew kept the dust and dirt contained during the demo which was one of our big concerns. The demolition went quickly and smoothly. Next phase began with John Hughes and his team building our dream kitchen and guest bathroom. Throughout the whole process, John was not only the Field Superintendent but also to my surprise, a fine artisan. When I was younger, I used to build residential homes. I worked with a small company that was owned and run by a cabinetmaker who chose to build his houses with the anal retentiveness as the cabinets he built. I saw these same perfectionist attitudes in John. Not only does he set high expectations for the work he does but also everyone on his team that came into our home to build our dream. During the remodel process, were there glitches and changes? I do not believe there is any project that has this magnitude of work that would proceed from start to beginning without either items happening. To our relief however, these were all taken care of easily and quickly with the full support of Nathan and John from the beginning to the end of the project. I cannot express how happy and relieved from stress my wife and I were to have the caliber of this team at our home building our dream. How did it turn out? The only words I can come up with is grateful. The Kirk Development Team went well beyond my wife’s and my expectations. They kept us updated throughout the whole process. Even with the glitches that would be expected and changes we made after the start of the project, Kirk Development came through with gold stars. The vision of our dream became a reality. All of the things that we did not like with the original mid-sixties kitchen and bath had disappeared. Additionally, with the expert advice of Nathan and John, we ended up with much more than we imagined. I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story. "Luis did an excellent job installing a new restroom vent and adding an electrical outlet to the wall. He was professional, punctual, and explained the work clearly throughout the process. The installation was completed efficiently, and everything looks clean and works perfectly. He paid attention to detail and made sure the area was cleaned up before leaving. I am very satisfied with the quality of work and would highly recommend Luis for future projects."

EDIT: FWIW The above review was written while the person giving the estimate was standing there asking me to give her a review. She was nice, but obviously a seasoned salesperson. She did attempt to hard-sell me a few times, and even pulled the "call my manager and get another 10% off" routine mentioned by others here... but again, I wasn't having any of it. Bottom line is that their lowest possible option came to an amount in excess of the "HIGH END" average here (for my area) by nearly two grand... and that was their lowest cost option. Let me be honest here... I live in a CB Homes tract house worth $165K on a good day... I was looking for a bath to shower conversion for mom who's been living with me and having troubles getting in the shower. I can't cough up money I would expect to pay for a full remodel of the bathroom (their high end and original estimate). And unfortunately I can't cough up nearly five digits for shower with glass door ... on the low end. I need a functional shower that looks as good as the original stock CB Homes tub... the bar isn't set too high. These folks are obviously for the higher end custom home. That's fine. I just wish the person on the phone when I called to make the appointment and TOLD HER my situation at least had the information to relay that the lowest my job was going to cost with glass door would be what it was. But whatever. I just felt I needed to correct the record here... especially after reading some of the other reviews. To summarize: The lady who appeared for the appointment was personable... she seemed to know what she w as doing... she also was obviously a sales professional and did employ some tactics to make the sale (not entirely unexpected of course)... and perhaps, if she had the flexibility to sell a lower end "non-custom" type product, we may have bought (but not right then regardless... these folks were the first people to come out and give and estimate and I NEVER buy anything based on a single estimate.)... but their lowest cost product was easily 2x the cost I was expecting going in (albeit admittedly a thoroughly informed expectation) ... I have another estimate that will be done Wednesday. I already spoke to the owner on the phone so as to not waste his time. I relayed some of this information to him in hopes to determine if he has any possible chance of meeting or exceeding the expectations I've developed (partly based on the averages available here on this site) and if it would be a waste of time for him to come by... the appointment is still set."

"We LOVE our new master bathroom - and all the other upgrades we got done by Interior Remodeling by Simmons. We found them on Angie’s List and, after meeting with Dave Simmons, we sought no other quotes as we were very impressed with his design ideas and knowledge and, frankly, his low-key, professional manner. He provided a detailed written proposal and a reasonable payment schedule that kept things on track. Our 30-year old adobe home had a huge tiled sunken tub in the Master ensuite that we never used in the 7 years we’ve been here and the separate tiled enclosed shower was dark and outdated. We now have a beautiful, bright, elegant open bathroom with all new tile flooring, a open-ended tile and glass shower with bench, stand-alone soaker tub, gorgeous double vanity with matching custom framed mirror and separate storage cabinet in a style keeping with our adobe walls, new quartz counter, all new fixtures and great new recessed lighting and chandelier, and new double-paned glass in three windows. They also retiled the surrounds of a double-faced fireplace between the Master bedroom and ensuite - done so neatly and skilfully - and then were meticulous in matching paint for the walks affected. The work was done largely by Clint Simmons and his colleague, Fudi, who were extremely proficient in all the work done and a pleasure to work with, arriving on time and leaving our home each day in an orderly, clean state. In addition, we had them replace the old cultured marble counter in a guest bath with granite and install new taps and custom framed mirror - beautiful upgrade. They replaced our old kitchen tap and their electrician replaced chandeliers in our kitchen and dining room and the ceiling fan in our Master - love the updated look! We selected all the needed plumbing and lighting fixtures and Dave obtained them at a very reasonable price. He never tried to upsell us - instead gave us great advice on where to find what we needed at reasonable cost. His suppliers and subtrades were great. The project was delayed a bit mid-job, awaiting the arrival of our soaker tub but that wasn’t Dave’s fault. We had to change our tub choice and the new one took longer than expected to ship from the East, holding up placement of the new drain and filling in the old “sunken tib hole”. But it was well worth the wait. Whole remodel is beautiful! Clint also repaired a crack in the Saltillo tile floor in our dining room in a manner that will keep the crack from expanding but also avoided what would have been a very messy and, I suspect, very noticeable replacement job of a few tiles in the midst of a large floor. Very pleased with their wise advice and very neat, detailed work throughout. Honest, skilled, creative, professional and all nice guys who were great to work with. We were extremely pleased with Dave, Clint, Fudi and their subtrades and suppliers. We would not hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend this company to others."

"Ryan and his crew were awesome. They remodeled my master bathroom and it turned out wonderful. Our home is old and with any old home you do not know what issues you will encounter. Well there were several issues and Ryan and his crew did a tremendous job fixing them and did it without any drama. The job was delayed an extra week but that is expected when you remodel and run into issues. Ryan and his crew were knowledgeable, professional and hard working. I would highly recommend this company for any job large or small. In fact, I had them return a few weeks later for another job in the den. I was fortunate to find such a good company for we have had poor workmanship from other companies in the past."
