"Had a basement door installed and needed the finish work completed. Kris came and gave us a very reasonable estimate. We contracted Kris and he started our project in a timely manner. He arrived on time with his helper and completed the job in one day. His efforts included finishing the drywall, installing woodwork and painting and staining as necessary. The work performed was outstanding and beyond my expectations. Every detail was exacting and done to perfection. He was very knowledgeable and eager to meet to meet all our needs. I highly recommend him as a true professional who knows his business. I look forward to using his services in the future."

"We love the new paint in the kitchen, living room and bedroom!!! We really appreciate that you followed through and got the project done so fast like you promised before Thanksgiving! Your crew was prompt, respectful and willing to wait for me to bring the different paint which I cannot be more grateful for! I would highly recommend S&S to friends for future projects!"

"The project started out fine until I looked over the final result. Buddy the business owner, did a rush job I'm painting the house. Sections of the house were not fully painted, other sections had dirt sprayed into the paint. He also poured his waste paint into my window well on my patio where everybody hangs out. There were areas over sprayed. When I gave him a list of things that needed to be completed for the project to be done he tried to charge me more. When I refused because the house wasn't even completed, he began sending threatening text messages saying that he would come over and take the paint off of the house and then take me to court and sue me over $250 that he was trying to overcharge. He was attempting to do a quick cash job and get away with it. The project was left unfinished after his threatening behavior. He also is erasing negative reviews on Google. I would not suggest this painter"

"Horrible. We live out of state and came to check on the house, windows not clean, baseboards not clean, door frames not clean, toilet not clean. Wood floors not washed. What a waste of $550."

I work by myself and if there is something I am not equiped to do, I hire professionals that I trust. On bigger projects I always ask for 1/2 down plus a signed contract. I do enjoy what I do and make sure it is done right. I am very detail oriented. I like to make sure I like the finished project along with the owners.

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Ripon, WI

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
