Called several roofers over months; they were either unable to do the job, charged excessive rates or unresponsive. Second City responded, provided a competitive quote quickly and (after some scheduling issues due to weather) completed the job as planned. They were respectful, answered questions and addressed concerns. No leaks in new roof (I know b/c we haven't fixed drywall yet). Also referred an AC guy who did good work as well - would use again."

"Falling down plaster in my small foyer ceiling directed my attention to the flat copper roof above. The wood support under the copper in the affected corner was rotten. The first roofing contractor from whom I got an estimate told me I needed to have the masonry repaired before the roof could be replaced. I got the first roofing contractor's name from an internet search. An Angie's list internet search for copper roofs did not yield any contractors. Fortunately I received the Angie's List magazine and saw PZ's ad which mentioned copper roofs. After getting the masonry repaired I got PZ's and another estimate. The one from PZ Construction was the lowest. Before I signed the contract I asked Paul if he could give me an estimate for another small roof. We corresponded by e-mail and after sending him pictures he sent me an estimate for the second roof which also seemed quite reasonable. The work was started the following week and took about 4 days to complete both roofs. I asked Paul about putting additional insulation in between the rafters before the solid core insulation was installed. He told me if I supplied the insulation it could be put it in at no extra charge. The 2 workmen who did the work took about 4 days to complete the job, working steadily and leaving the area very neat every night when they left the job. Working with copper is definitely a skilled job and the workmen really knew what they were about. Because the roofs were off the second floor I was able to see their progress and was really impressed with their workmanship. The first copper roof lasted 80 years which Paul said was about typical for copper roofs in this climate. I'm hopeful that PZ's roof will last as long."

"Tom was a professional from start to finish, and I immediately felt I could trust him and his crew to do the job right. Tom called me the same day I contacted them for an estimate, and he came to my house within a couple days to look at our roof, measure and provide an estimate. The roofing job was done within a week of initial contact, and we are very pleased with the quality of work, materials and price. The crew took time to tarp the neighbor's house, so as not to damage their property, and they left our yard, gutters and surrounding property spotless (from roofing materials, that is). " Installed 16 windows in June 2013.  Almost 4 years later (Jan., 2017) one of the windows cracked.  Called Albar and sent a text photo of the cracked window.  They said it was a pressure crack and ordered a replacement from the factory.  They called me when it was ready.  I picked it up. They showed me how to remove the damaged window and put in the new one.  It was very simple even for a woman in the 60s with no construction experience (although you can have it done for you for a service fee).  I popped out the old one and popped in the new one.  No Charge.  This company is there for you even long after the sale is completed."
