"I had a whole day's worth of a project for the guys. 1 Video Doorbell, 1 Floodlight Camera, two Security Cameras, and two digital dead bolts. We ran into one issue, where Wifi didn't reach the other side of the house. They were equipped with the tools needed to extend my network to the other side of the house, with the exception of an additional Wifi Router/Extender. They went and bought the Wifi Router to get me up and running the same day! Full Motion went above and beyond for this project, and I highly recommend using them for which ever projects they say they can do."

"Tim did a great job with the replacement of our water heater. Even though it was the day after Thanksgiving he moved some of his other appointments around to come to our home that afternoon. Tim and his assistant were careful to put on shoe covers in the house and to observe COVID 19 precautions. The job required more complicated plumbing since we have a desuperheater loop from our geothermal heat pump that connects to the water heater; the additional charge for this work was minimal. "We've got American Home Shield. So that kinda varies but united air temp has done some work for us. Probably a couple years ago, I think so. I think its two years ago. They did work on our air conditioning. Well you know with American Home Shield you only pay $75.00. You sign up for a year , its like something you subscribe to.  You call and contact American Home Shield and they have somebody contact you whose in line with their services and agrees to work with them. You pay $75.00 and if its not done correctly for each visit but if they come back twice you don't pay again. Its like 400 and something a year. Its fabulous, its fabulous. If you need plumbing , H VAC, lighting, its amazing. Its worth every dime. And if they can't fix it they replace it at no charge unless you want to upgrade There are some different companies but even when we refinanced our house they had us, no we bought another house in Winchester for our son. And they made us have it in with our policy and they use American Home shield. its fabulous and you don't have to do the searching or anything, If you aren't happy you just tell American Home shield. One time United Air Temp tried to talk us into , they did some plumbing work too, and they were going try to talk us into replacing it with a cheap model. That isn't American Home Shield policy its with the same thing or you can pay to upgrade. Pay the balance of an upgrade. We use it all the time. When my son has issues with his house I tell him just call American Home Shield. They guarantee they will be out within 72 hrs but its usually within 24 hours. We contacted them last week about my son's air conditioning. They came out right away, they had to order something. They had to come back out and they did last Wednesday and they fixed it."

"Shortly after moving into our new house, I began hearing a knocking on the side of the house every morning.  After a few weeks and a bit of freaking out, we finally saw the culprit - a woodpecker had made himself a lovely condo in the trim of our chimney.  The hole was closer to the second floor of the house, but too far from a window for me to reach. 

I called a contractor who had been referred by our realtor, and after getting a very vague and non-committal "estimate" from him, checked with a second company.  The second company's estimate was very open ended (paint, paint matching and "any additional supplies" were extra and not estimated) and referenced "wood rot" when I specifically told him that it was woodpecker damage.  My third try was with Care and Repair. 

David called me right away, and was very patient with my concern over the welfare of the bird - he actually researched the best way to re-home a woodpecker!  The estimate I received was for $106 and included all supplies - even paint that matched my house. He was very detailed and thorough in explaining what he was going to do, and even had plans B through G ready should plan A not go the way he wanted.

The final bill was $135, and the price difference was thoroughly explained - once David was able to get more than a "birds eye" view of the hole, it became apparent that there were actually three holes.  He completely cleaned out all of the bird's "furnishings"  (feathers, twigs, grass, etc) and cleaned out the bits of the wood that had begun to deteriorate, then filled the whole thing with wood epoxy.  The next day, he came back and sanded, primed and painted over the repair.  You can stare at that space all day and never see that it was once the beginnings of a woodpecker apartment complex!

Care and Repair's bill for this work was comparable to the other two vague and open-ended estimates I received from the other two companies.  They are courteous - you know they're actually listening to you. They're fast and neat (in and out, with no mess left behind) and they're dependable.  If they say they'll be there - they're there.  I would definitely use these guys again - in fact, I have!"

"I'd like to start by saying that the finished product looks pretty good but the process to get there was a chore.
The major problems were:
1. Just before we signed the contract, the owner of Contour Construction had verbally promised that steps would be taken to protect our home during demolition/construction; specifically plastic put up to minimize dust migrating to other rooms and existing hardwood floors would be protected from damage.  Neither of those were done.  Consequently, our entire house was full of dust and the existing hardwood floors were severly damaged. As of today there has been no contact from the owner to resolve the issue of the damaged floors.  He just left them as is.  
 2. Another unfulfilled promise was that someone would be on the site to supervise the individual workers.  That did not happen either.  The owner was good about letting us know when someone was coming to the house but they would arrive alone and unsupervised. Many times the work was done well. However, there were instances where the work had to be redone. This could have been avoided if there was someone there to oversee the quality of the work.  Plus, since the owner was rarely on-site during the renovation he had to rely upon the word of his worker(s) who, on a couple of  occasions had deliberately misinformed him avoid admitting mistakes! 
3. The contracted time period was listed as 3-4 weeks, starting July 1.  The last worker left the second week of September;  that's 10 weeks!  Much of that was the result of poor planning and work having to be redone.
In summary the owner of this company probably considered me overly demanding but I wasn't about to ignore shodding workmanship just to avoid "making waves". My philosphy was what would a potential buyer see when s/he looked at the bathroom.  With oversight the work would have been done right the first time and this project could have been completed within the contracted time frame.
Our theory is that Contour Construction had taken on more work that they could handle at the time and that our project was low on their priortiy list.  Again, I believe that  the problems we encountered could have been avoided by first, the owner fulfilling the promises he made and second the work had been supervised by someone who had a committment to quality.
These were our experiences with Contour Construction.  Perhaps someone else would have better luck with them. My suggestion would be get every detail no matter how trivial in writing with no verbal promises as well as being assertive and stopping work immediately if a provision of the contract was not being followed especially workers that are not being supervised.
