"We had been having leaking in our ceiling near our chimney for almost a year, despite having had our roof and gutters and having our chimney flashing redone last year. After a number of frustrating follow-ups with our original roofer and chimney repair company, we called S&K, which came highly recommended on our community page. Sean came out within two weeks despite a very busy rainy season. He checked our roof and told us quite honestly that the problem was not the roof or even the flashing, which had been done well but the porousness of our older bricks. He applied some silicone sealant right then and told us to call him again if it didn't work after the heavy rains this weekend; he also mentioned we should just keep periodically reapplying this sealant ourselves. This leak has stressed us out for months and Sean was extremely honest and helpful. He didn't try to sell us any expensive repairs but was upfront about the problem. The level of professionalism, knowledge and service exhibited by Sean and everyone we spoke with is so rare nowadays; we can't recommend him or S&K highly enough."

"Let me tell you, I was freaking out! Water was leaking in my house on the ceiling of my living room. A slow, steady drip that had already made its way down to the second floor. Johnnie originally said he could come out tomorrow, so we kept calling around. Johnnie called back saying he could come today with his team in the next ten minutes, more like 3! While he was discussing his flat rate of 250 (compared to 500 most companies charge) his team was on the roof assessing what needed to be repaired, taking pictures and all. He explained everything thoroughly. But what topped of this exceptional service was his ability to complete the job right there and then! "The technician arrived on schedule and was very courteous. He inquired about the problem we were having and listened to our concerns about the roof. He advised me that American Contractors does not work on flat roofs. Since I did not know this I was extremely disappointed that I was not made aware of this and that he was not told he was coming to look at a flat roof. The technician realized that I was extremely dismayed and offered to go on the roof to see what condition the roof was in. After checking the roof, he agreed to make a small repair but advised me that the roof needs more extensive repairs by a flat roof specialist. I accepted his offer to help even though he admitted he was not a flat roof specialist. After he had completed the small repair, I paid the amount due and thanked him for his services and advice. The technician was what I would call "a nice guy", and I realized that it was not his fault he was not told that I had a flat roof! Obviously, the error was made at another level."
