During the initial visit, Mike gave me a thorough, complete, and prompt estimate educating me on my current electrical system and the work to be done. Bob was responsive, friendly, flexible and easy to work with during the scheduling and billing process. Joe and Brian were friendly and professional explaining the work and answering all my questions. They communicated clearly through the whole process. Joe and Brian worked so hard to upgrade our electrical panel from fuses to breakers. They also installed an outdoor meter on the side of our house. "We had a wonderful experience with Everlight Solar. Nick did a great job of going through and explaining everything and how it would all work. The crew does a fantastic job and they do it quickly. They even suggested a placement change of the panels on the spot to maximize my production. One thing I wish is that I had added a couple more panels to the system beyond what they recommended- just to get that extra going back into the grid. I have seen the cost savings in just one month on my utility bill. More sun would be better but I did record 74% less consumption for Sept. than the previous year! The days are getting shorter, so have to take that into account, I look forward to next year and seeing just how much more it can produce. For the panel there was a follow-up need Jason, the owner, came back out to our home at 10PM. And for the light fixtures Parker noticed we had a dimmer on a switch that wasn't connected to a dimmable light, a fire hazard, so he put a new switch in for us, something that wasn't on our radar. "I have generally a positive impression of their work, as the unit is working extremely well. Their presentation was first rate, prices competitive, they had good references and had installed a lot of geothermal units. Their workers were courteous, worked efficiently, seemed competent, cleaned up well after themselves, and would go the "extra mile" when something didn't seem to be working correctly. However there are some caveats I would share with potential customers. First, they are often overly optimistic as to how long it will take them to do things. Initially I was told that the whole installation would take two days, including drilling 3 holes 200 feet deep. The drilling and installation actually took a week. When I mentioned the 2-day figure to the head driller he laughed. During the drilling phase (about 4 days) we were disconnected from electricity, phones and cable. When the drilling ended late on a Friday, I had to pay a $300 after-hours service fee to the local utility to get hooked so as not to go another 3 days without power. On the plus side, a Freier's electrician did come out on his own after hours to get our phone and cable reconnected. The Freier's representative also made a mistake on the survey they submitted to get a DNR permit for the well drilling. This led to a delay of the project from March until June. When stuff wasn't going right, the company was reluctant to let me know what was going on. Often I had to call and ask for news. For example, when told the team was going to be up to my house first thing in the morning, they didn't arrive. When I called the company to find out when to expect them, I was told "they're on their way". Hours later (we are a 15 minute drive away from their shop) I called again I was told, "We don't know where our teams are". Turns out they were on an emergency call, and got to my place by early afternoon. When choosing a geothermal unit, one of my questions had to do with the filters - how to get them, how easy was it to change them, and so forth. The Freier's representative told me they were widely available at plumbing supply stores and cost about $10. Turns out they are non-standard filters which no body seems to stock and have to be specially ordered. Costs quoted me now range from $14 to $54 a filter (the last price as ordered from the company that makes the furnace). Turns out Freiers' didn't even have any of the filters in stock. I have ordered some from them and was told it would take one or two weeks to get them. Still waiting at 4+ weeks for a "special order". Since the leader of the installation team told me they might need to be changed as frequently as once a month, this promises to be an ongoing problem."
