"<hr /> I'm extremely pleased with Mid-Hudson Floor and Wall Co and highly recommend them to anyone considering their services.  I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience from the moment I entered their store to the completion of their professional installation.  I am a perfectionist and not always easy to please.  Lori was very helpful in assisting us with choosing the perfect  <br /> wood floor among their broad selection of unique choices.  Alan arrived to our home precisely when he stated he would and had <br /> an accurate estimate to me by the end of that business day.   The installation process was completed timely and efficiently- much appreciated since we lived in-house during the installation process.  This was not an easy job but their installers certainly made <br /> it seem so.  They corrected and repaired any deficiencies in the subfloor and made sure it was sound before installing the new flooring.  This required a fair amount of skill and experience as well as some unpleasant hours spent in a crawl space.  The crew was pleasant, efficient, neat and clean.  The new floor looks beautiful, was installed with precision and now feels very solid. I'm glad I found Mid-Hudson Floor and Wall Co.  They truly exceeded my expectations.  I can't recommend then highly enough!"

"I had a plumbing issue that caused a small flood in my living room, leaving part of the carpet and padding soaking wet. Paul came out and lifted up the carpet, removed the wet padding and set up a few industrial dryers/blowers to dry my carpeting. A few days later when I called to let him know that everything was dry, he came back and replaced the padding and put the carpeting back - good as new! He's and awesome flooring guy, I used him when we moved into our home for all of our flooring needs. I will use him again because there is no one I trust more to do work in my house than SUPERIOR FLOORS. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Rosendale, NY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
