Hello I am Tyler Adkins. We own an excavator, backhoe, skid steer, front loader and plenty of dump trucks to get any job done that anyone should need done. "It was such a pleasure to work with Jon on this project and see our vision come to life. He is an extraordinary designer with experience that we valued deeply. We started working with Jon in the winter of 2018 to develop a plan for two areas in our backyard: (1) steps surrounding a deck and pond with additional flagstone pavers, and the big project (2) reconstructing our walk out basement space with retaining walls, a floating bench, and steps to lead up to the rest of the yard. Construction started in early summer of 2018 and he was out there everyday battling constant rain to ensure the project got done on time. The care and detail that Jon puts into every aspect of the project truly feels like he's creating something for his own home. We always felt that he had our best interest in mind and was not going to cut any corners. The finished project is absolutely stunning. From the detail in the overall design and unique angles of the walls to the bamboo floating bench and matching privacy fence above, we love every aspect of this space and know it was built to last. "Eric Hess was extremely easy to work with and very professional. He was quick to come to my house and give me a detailed estimate for the work that was needed. He thoroughly explained the issues that I had in an easy to understand manner. Once they started work, he and his crew made sure to cover the areas of the roof they would be walking on with pieces of carpet to prevent damage to my shingles. We had very unique textured bricks that would have been impossible to exactly match. Eric found a close replacement and even sent a load back to his supplier when he didn't think that they were the correct color. I'm no masonry or chimney expert, but I believe that he really knows his stuff. He rebuilt the crown much stronger than the previous one and made sure to use 4 inches of concrete, and not the cheaper mortar that was used before that led to serious cracks and water leakage. The finished chimney looks great and matches as well as can be expected with our very unique brick type. I have every confidence that the chimney he built is very solid and well-built and will fare much better than the old one. I highly recommend Hess Masonry. <br>"

"When we asked around for a mason with a good reputation, Halfar came up in all of our conversations. They lived up to their reputation with us: <br /> Upon our request for a quote, the owner of the company came to our house within a week to assess the situation. We had recently purchased a new home, and the inspection had revealed that some of the external bricks on our chimney were spalling and the concrete crown had exhibited some minor cracking.  <br /> Steve inspected the chimney very closely and told us that the damage was not to a point where he believed the bricks needed to be fully tuck-pointed. Rather, he suggested that his company could save us some money by patching and sealing the damaged areas of the chimney. He was open that this would be a temporary fix (5-6 years), but that it would ensure that no further damage would occur in that time (by preventing water from entering the brick and expanding during the freeze/thaw cycles we have around here). We appreciated the honest assessment, as other masons we spoke with told us they would only be willing completely replace the chimney (to the tune of $4-5k). <br /> If you read the other reviews for Halfar, you'll notice that they are so busy that they tend to be booked several months out. This was the case when we hired them, but Steve was up front about the situation. He also assured us that our damage was not a time sensitive situation and that as long as we addressed it before winter we would be fine. <br /> Halfar's masons showed up at our house sometime about 2 months later and completed the work in less than 2 days. The workmen were very professional and did a great job of cleaning up after they finished. Our chimney looks great and we're very happy with the quality of the work and the price.
