"It went well until it didn't....at first things were going well, not exactly what was promised by the salesman but good enough. The most bothersome issue was the lack of an on-site project manager, no one was there to relay what was being done or that could take comments and questions from me, it was just a crew that did not communicate with me. But the work on the pitched roof was getting done. Then it came time for my flat roof. The crew was a disaster. They did a sloppy job and were in and out in an hour and then never returned. They didn't follow any of the Gaco guidelines for roof coating. The edges were pulling up. The roof was leaking through the soffit. I was really upset - I reached out to the project manager and the salesman. I was told everything would be corrected immediately. I was told that weekly for about 8 weeks, while my roof leaked in the rain. Repairs were NEVER made. At one point, they contacted me and said they estimated it wrong and additional work needed to be done and the price was going to Increase by almost 50%! Then, Garcia BACKED OUT OF THE CONTRACT - they left me to find my own new roofer after doing half a job. Left me in an awful position of being extremely limited on what could be done because of the work they had already done on the pitched roof. They were inconsiderate about all of it, acted like they did nothing wrong. I complained to the salesman, to the project manager, to the website itself and yet I NEVER heard from anyone in management AT ALL, no one from management apologized, no one at all explained WHY they would not honor the contract we entered, no phone call, no letter, they acted as if they did nothing wrong. Garcia Broke the contract - they caused me stress and sleepless nights because they sent out a crew that did a terrible job and left it that way leaking for 8 weeks. They acted as if they did me a favor by not charging me for the work that DAMAGED my roof. At first they just tried to drop me saying they were just going to take the flat roof part out of the contract. I objected and asked for additional money off and they refused at first. I explained that I got 4 estimates and chose them based on them doing my entire roof and based on their entire price. I explained that by taking out only part of the contract, this was a real problem, other roofers did not want to do just the flat roof. They didn't care. My leverage at that point was that the contract had not been fully paid because the work had not fully been completed. I insisted on seeking out a new roofer and finding out the cost to properly complete the flat roof before I could agree to let them out of the contract. They finally agreed to reduce the contract by the cost of the new estimate, but it took me almost 2 weeks to get someone to actually agree to honor the rest of the contract and to give me a reduction of the full amount of the new contract. The only good thing that came out of getting a second roofer, was that they actually pointed out a really big error by Garcia that I didn't know was an issue, it looked odd to me, but the project manager had ok'd it so, I figured it was ok. Garcia failed to properly angle and secure the metal apron flashing coming off the pitched roof to the flat roof. Once the new roofer pointed it out, the Garcia project manager agreed that it wasn't done properly and that it was not secured. The flashing was actually angled up instead of down and for over two months it was allowing water to get trapped under the flashing. It took Garcia 16 days to fix the issue after they came out and inspected it and agreed it was not done correctly. After they fixed it, 2 weeks later they had to come back out again because it was already coming up. The new roofer advised their method of securing the apron was not recommended and could cause leaks down the line. Garcia nailed directly into the flat roof rather than pop riveting the apron to itself. Garcia refused to re-do it the apron and only touched up the sealant. It was full stress from November until the end of January, all because of Garcia. I will never do business with them again and would not recommend them to anyone. Their prices are good, but its not worth it in the end. Their website claims to "Guarantee" that they will estimate it correctly and do the job right - I called them out on that lie and they didn't even know what I was talking about- its the first line of their Garcia Guarantee - they responded telling me that I was getting a warranty. That was not the issue- the issue was, they gave me an estimate and entered a contract with me to do my entire roof and then tried to change the price and then completely did not honor our contract. They didn't live up to their "guarantee.""
