"You can't beat local family-owned businesses. Jason came out when he said he would and quoted a carpet stretching job for me. Often people won't waste their time on small jobs like this because it's a lot of work and not a lot of money for the effort invested. That or they just knock it out quickly and do a sub-par job to get to their next job. This was not Nei Brothers Carpets. He was on time, did the job perfectly and did it in the time frame/cost he stated. You cannot ask more from a business."

"Mike was great- We have beautiful new carpet. Only wish we could have afforded hardwood... We had numerous flooring people out- Glad we chose Carpet Central. Very nice 2-day installation job. The pad was a quality, 8 lb padding and we appreciated that all was included- Furniture moving and carpet/pad removal. Only took 2 days. <br /> Very happy with their work and would use their services again. <br />"

"Joe made sure our carpet was in stock and scheduled the install quickly. He also accommodated our request for an early start time (so I could meet the installers before I left for work). The installers were at my home for 14 hours, ripping up the old carpet, laying new pad and the new carpet. I was impressed that they stayed and finished it all in one day. The carpeting looks and feels great, I'm very happy with it. Joe has since called to make sure everything was okay and to our liking and I've also received a hand written thank you for your business note! The personalized customer service is wonderful! Thank you to Joe and the entire team at Carpets in the Park."

"Lance is wonderful. He reached out right away after I submitted my project on Angie’s List. We set up a good time for him to inspect the job. Lance stretched 7 Year old carpet so it looks new again! The installer we used before said nothing could be done and walked away. Thanks again Lance!"

"I reached out to Mike at Windy City and we set an appointment immediately. He had to cancel the appointment but phoned early to let me know and rescheduled promptly. He showed up to my home with an array of samples. Took measurements and spent some time explaining the process and the types of carpet. He even sent me carpet samples so I could lay them on the floor to compare. The men who installed showed up about 30 minutes late but got right to work. They were friendly and hardworking. All of our heavy furniture was upstairs so they had to move from one side of the room to the other. No small task since our roof is angled which cuts down the space to move items. It took them longer than they thought to install: 10 hours in all! The carpet looks great! And the padding underneath is the BEST! What a difference on our feet! I would definitely hire again."

"I am very happy with the installation. I called to ask about installation and received a callback within a couple of hours. Once we agreed on the job, the installation was scheduled for within the week. We did purchase upgraded padding to be laid under the carpet, and I was surprised that it was not much more money than the basic. <br /> On the day of installation, we were scheduled for an afternoon job. The guys called me shortly before 9am to see if I was available earlier -- they'd had a cancellation and could come at 9:00! Not having to sit around waiting for them to arrive was an unexpected bonus! <br /> The entire job -- removal of the old carpet and installation of new padding and carpet -- went very quickly. We had removed everything from the room prior to their arrival, and there were 3 or 4 guys working. I believe they were done in under two hours. <br /> The carpet looks great, and we have no issues. Overall, I'm very happy. <br />"

"Amazing! The carpet looked nearly brand new. It is at least 9 years old and maybe a few years older than that. Stains and spots were gone. Getting ready to sell our house it was important that the carpeting looked good. They saved us thousands of dollars in replacement costs, and the job was done quickly too! We were out of town and someone was supposed to unlock the door for us, but it was locked when they arrived. They waited for 20 minutes while a friend came to let them in rather than rescheduling. (Guys, sorry again about the mixup with the door being locked!) They were professional about it and still gave us the full discount. Would absolutely recommend their service - it is the best carpet cleaning I've ever seen. <br />"

"I hired Molgados carpeting to install carpeting in 2 bedrooms & vinyl flooring purchased from LL Flooring. I am extremely happy with the carpeting & installation of my floors. Antonio’s team was efficient professional and finished in 2 days. The carpet was a welcome addition very comfortable and even had my first accident and the mud came out very easy. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. Price was very reasonable easy to work with from beginning to completion. Very satisfied customer."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Round Lake, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
